MISO IS BUSTING OUT OF BOARDING!!
But we need your help to get him to his rescue.

He needs a ride this TUESDAY 10/20 from New Orleans, LA to New Roads, LA.

It’s right under 2 hours and can be broken up into several legs if we can get a few volunteers to help. Gas is paid!

Musk has been living in boarding for many months and desperately deserves this chance to get to his new rescue so he can find his furever family!

Please dm if you can help 🐾🤍

PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT UPDATE

Many of you may recognize this precious soul from a post that went viral yesterday from one of our animal rescue friends locally.

What you didn’t see is for the last 3 weeks, we have been working on this case. Day after day we called police, texted the animal warden, made pleas to save this dog that fell on deaf ears and unwilling hands.

“Why didn’t you just go take the dog?”
1) we can’t just take an animal without police involvement. 2) even when a dog is not tethered and in danger, we still have our hands tied

So we stayed the course and kept demanding justice behind the scenes, and after the public went INSANE with fury for this angel, a miracle happened.

He is SAFE. he’s just a baby and he’s safe at our parish shelter while the legal issues are dealt with AND he has a family waiting for him as soon as this s**t wraps up.

SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING. We only knew about him because tons of concerned citizens kept sending us his photo.

Because of YOU and how LOUD everyone got, he’s safe.

ALSO please note that Jeff Dorson and The Humane Society of Louisiana have been working this case and assisting to their full ability as they do for so many other voiceless creatures across the state! Please support their efforts as well 🤍

Salem, I am so fu***ng sorry. And I’m not sorry about my language because I held her as she took her last breath yesterday because some as***le left her to die on the side of the road.

I’ve been crying since yesterday. This part never gets easier, even though I know our duty to them is to prevent further suffering.

The shock of having a foster home and driver prepared to take her home and getting the call that she wasn’t going to make it is something I can’t describe.

What we initially thought it was simply a ruptured a**l gland on top of everything else she had going on turned out to be much worse. She had an immune disease that causes horrible boring holes to form near her re**um. It’s a genetic disease that German Shepherd’s get. She’s been suffering for so long that her body couldn’t bounce back. Her kidneys were not improving, she was in a great deal of pain and I’ll spare you the rest of the horrible details so that you can remember just her happy face over the last couple days.

As horrible as this is, she spent the last few days surrounded by love. I brought her ice cream and a cheeseburger and tater tots, but she was too sick to enjoy most of it. She did eat the patty and I held her frail body and told her over and over how much I love her and how sorry I am.

I’ll see you again mama. I hope you run free of pain with all the other angels waiting for you and us at the rainbow bridge.

Thank you all so much for donating and showing her love. Special things to Michelle who picked her up and brought her to the hospital, to the hospital staff for showering her with so much compassion, and to Mardi Paws™ presents for helping with her bills.

UPDATE! She has A Rescue waiting for her as soon as she gets off of her stray hold. It’s a freaking miracle and I cannot stop crying.

FOSTER / RESCUE NEEDED 😭😭

Just rolled out of bed and got a call about “a black truck just threw a dog out by the skate park” 🥲

I came out to secure her and help the angels that pulled over for her. Animal control is taking her to shelter bc we don’t have a foster but she is THE SWEETEST and still a baby. PLEASE HELP US SAVE HER.

UPDATE - They are going to an exotic animal RESCUE. Despite how clear I was below about, not giving them away, we’re getting tons of messages of people who want them.

If you’re truly interested, check out an exotics Rescue and go through the adoption process, please.

FERRET RESCUE NEEDED - two friendly females, Thibodeaux La. Owner will transport. We are specifically looking for RESCUE as we have no idea how to vet proper applicants for this species.

SALEM UPDATE - our girl is still in the hospital but we are optimistic!

she’s fighting a huge battle after some serious neglect. The state she is in does not happen overnight. she is a bag of bones, was running a 104 fever, has a ruptured and badly infected a**l gland, infection in her lady parts, and a severe UTI that is wreaking havoc on her already depleted body and kidneys.

she is staying in the hospital another night on fluids, antibiotics and pain medication, and we will recheck her kidneys in the morning.

THANK YOU to every single one of you that has sent in a donation and cares about this angel that was found laying in a hotel lot for over 24 hours barely able to move before we found out about her.

I still don’t know what her final bill is, so if you’re able to donate, here’s how, and in the miracle event that we raise more than is needed for her care, it will go towards her Spay and regular vetting as soon as she’s healthy.

HUGE thanks to Mardi Paws™ presents for donating towards her emergency bill and for helping all the other animals they do across the state. Please consider following and support supporting their mission. And also a massive thank you to the kind souls at Lafayette Vet Care Center for always taking the best care of our emergency cases. And blast was certainly not least, thank you to our long time Foster and Volunteer Michelle for running out to get her and driving her to the hospital, and to our Coordinator and Foster Nancy for giving her a soft place to land when she gets out of the hospital.

UPDATE - We’re calling her Salem, and What was initially suspected as pyo is now looking more like a combination of really severe UTI, vaginitis, ruptured a**l gland, emaciation and fever. We are still running tests, but the good news is she doesn’t need the emergency surgery we feared.

We had to put $1000 down for her to be admitted but the total estimate is $2800

Please keep sharing and thank you all so much for donating!!!

thank you so much to Dr. Emily and the incredible team at LVCC for always caring for our bbs.

Also huge thanks to Mardi Paws for donating $1000 towards her care! That leaves us with $800 to raise!

EMERGENCY DONATIONS NEEDED -

This girl has been laying on the side of a Morgan City hotel since yesterday at least, covered in ants, starving, weak.

We just found out about her and we couldn’t leave her there obviously, so she’s on her way to the emergency vet but WE HAVE NO MONEY - everything we’ve been getting donated for the last few months has been directly to pay towards our insane boarding balance (still over $10k)

Please send a dollar or $10 if you can help us pay for her to be seen immediately!
