WHAT WILL BAYARD LOOK LIKE 10 YEARS FROM NOW?

Will it be a community where businesses thrive, families put down roots, and young people choose to stay and build their futures?

Or will we simply hope that someone else creates that change?

The truth is, the future of Bayard isn't determined by chance. It's shaped by people who care enough to invest in it.

The Bayard Community Foundation was created because we believe Bayard deserves more than just maintaining the status quo. We envision a community that continues to grow, improve, and create opportunities for generations to come.

Your donation isn't just funding a project.

It's helping create a Bayard where:
🏡 Families choose to stay.
🌱 New opportunities can take root.
🎓 Young people can see a future here.
🎨 Community pride continues to shine through every improvement we make together.
🤝 Neighbors invest in neighbors.

No gift is too small. Every dollar becomes part of something bigger than ourselves — a lasting investment in the place we call home.

If Bayard has ever meant something to you, this is your opportunity to help shape what comes next.

The Bayard Community Foundation is pleased to introduce Bobbie Stuart, one of our founding advisory committee members. We asked Bobbie to share a few thoughts and answer some questions so our community and page followers can learn more about her, her background, and her commitment to the future of Bayard.

Where did you grow up, and are you a Bayard original or did you find your way here later in life? What brought you to Bayard?
I grew up in Bridgeport. I bought an acreage Northeast of Bayard in 2009 and met my husband Derek who is a Bayard native in 2011.

Please tell us about your family?
I am married to Derek who is a farmer. We have three children Jason, Brooklynn, and Logan

What is your chosen profession and how does it help your role into the foundation?
I am currently the Business Manager at Bayard Public Schools. I have grown a passion working in the community because I believe it is important that the school must support the community and the community must support the school

What’s one thing you love most about the Bayard community?
The people

What made you want to serve on the Bayard Community Foundation Advisory Committee?
I have a strong desire to see this community thrive and survive

What do you feel is Bayard’s greatest strength right now?
Aspiring people in the community that share a common vision of strengthening our community.

If you could help create one lasting impact for Bayard, what would it be?
My goal is to get the community thriving where our youth can see a future staying within our community as they turn into young adults

The Bayard Community Foundation is proud to introduce one more advisory committee member.

We are extremely proud to introduce Candace Ehler.

Here is a few Questions and Answers, so you can get to know her better.

The community of Bayard is extremely lucky to have such a great individual in our community, school and on the Foundation board.

Where did you grow up, and are you a Bayard original or did you find your way here later in life? What brought you to Bayard?
I grew up just outside of Bayard and went to school from preschool clear to graduation here. After college, I worked in Scottsbluff for a few years before getting the opportunity to come back and teach In Bayard.

Please tell us about your family?
I'm married to a wonderful man, Colton, and have two sons Grady (12) and Klay (3). I'm grateful to have most of my family close by as well with my sister and her family living here in Bayard and parents and inlaws who live close by as well.

What is your chosen profession and how does it help your role into the foundation?
I started as a teacher, then a family liaison, and now serve as an elementary principal. I get to know a lot of parents and families in Bayard thanks to my job as well as connect locally with other people and organizations.

What’s one thing you love most about the Bayard community?
I love that our town rallies around people when they need it. When disaster or illness strikes, people don't think twice about jumping in to help each other.

What made you want to serve on the Bayard Community Foundation Advisory Committee?
I love this town and the people in it. In the last few years, I've been able to attend a rural entrepreneurship conference, and I've seen what other small towns in Nebraska have done to revitalize their towns, and I truly believe that we can do that here, too. Serving on the Foundation board is another way to help move things forward.

What do you feel is Bayard’s greatest strength right now?
I feel like, especially right now, we have a lot of people motivated to see our small town thrive. Bayard 2035 has done a great job getting things moving and bringing people in who aren't able to serve on other formal committees.

If you could help create one lasting impact for Bayard, what would it be?
I think that becoming a community of doers would be the most important thing we could do. Any project, any group, is possible with people who are willing to do the work.

🌟 **Meet the Bayard Community Foundation Advisory Committee — Kacie Clark** 🌟

We’re excited to begin introducing the people helping shape the future of Bayard. Today, we’re featuring **Kacie Clark**!

**Where did you grow up, and are you a Bayard original or did you find your way here later in life? What brought you to Bayard?**
I was born and raised in Dickson, Tennessee, and moved to the Nebraska Panhandle after completing an internship with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln back in 2016.

**Please tell us about your family.**
My family is still back in Tennessee, but they come visit me often in Nebraska. My dad would move here, but mom thinks she won’t be able to handle the winters 😁. My dad owns his own business, Clark Trucking, and my mom works for the Tennessee State Parks. I have a younger brother who is a police officer with the Dickson Police Department. My family is very supportive and the reason I am who I am today. I’ve also been dating Joe Edwards for almost 10 years, and if you didn’t know… common law doesn’t exist in Nebraska 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

**What is your chosen profession and how does it help your role in the foundation?**
I am a commercial/agriculture lender with FNBO. I didn’t really choose this profession… it kind of chose me. However, my role is very rewarding in being instrumental in farmers’, ranchers’, and businesses’ operations. It also allows me to be present in our local communities.

**What’s one thing you love most about the Bayard community?**
How quickly people come together when you need something.

**What made you want to serve on the Bayard Community Foundation Advisory Committee?**
I want to see positive change for Bayard, and I keep my word. If I say I’m going to get something done, I’ll find the resources to get it done.

**What do you feel is Bayard’s greatest strength right now?**
People are noticing the newer faces that are coming forward to make changes. Finally, the town sees we need to adapt and is open to letting new ideas flow.

**If you could help create one lasting impact for Bayard, what would it be?**
Let’s give people a reason to drive into Bayard. Bring in art, creativity, niche markets, involve the younger generations to retain their ideas, give them space to create business, and maintain the livelihood of the town.

Thank you, Kacie, for your passion, energy, and commitment to helping move Bayard forward.

Bringing Bayard back won’t happen overnight. Real change takes time, vision, energy, and investment.

Reviving our downtown means supporting building owners, improving spaces, writing grants, creating opportunities, and working together with one shared goal — a vibrant, fun, and creative Bayard that people are proud to call home.

This is about more than buildings. It’s about bringing back pride, excitement, and momentum to our community.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, supported, and believed in the future of Bayard. Every contribution moves us one step closer.

If you would like to help, consider making a one-time donation or becoming a monthly contributor to invest in Bayard’s future.
