This summer we've welcomed five interns to our Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Program to gain valuable experience and assist in the areas of wildlife rehabilitation, animal care, and public education.

Each intern brings a unique set of skills and interests to the Center, and we are grateful to have them as a part of our team!

Wildlife Intern Highlight: Caitlin Allen

Why did you choose to intern at the Center?
To gain experience and help wildlife.

🌈 🪶 Feathers of Many Colors 🪶 🌈
Come learn all about feathers and their colors this Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00PM

Dr. Sean Williams, Ornithology instructor at Tri-C, in conjunction with Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society will be presenting “Feather Coloration and Mutations” for FREE here at the Center this Tuesday (9/1/26)!

Ever see a bird that has strangely colored feathers? Feathers are colored just like mixing paint, and sometimes the painter forgets to add a color. In this talk, we'll explore feather pigments, feather growth, pigment deposition, structural coloration, mutations that result in plumage aberrations, and other plumage oddities. Bring your photos of aberrant individuals if you'd like to discuss their color!

This presentation is also available via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person.
