During the Big East tournament held at Madison Square Garden, Peanut member firefighter Tom Hanley for his actions on Friday February 13th in Queens, NY during a water rescue. Tom and other members of FDNY Ladder 158 were called to a park for kids stuck on the ice. Firefighter Hanley and another member of the company made their way onto the ice and were able to remove the kids from the ice safely.

The company would like to recognize and congratulate our senior man, 62 year active member Chief Robert Hulse on being named the 2026 distinguished citizen of the year award honoree by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore.

Last night the Bay Shore Fire Department held its 65th annual Department Installation Dinner. Congratulations to all the officers and Chiefs!

Among the honorees last night were 37 & 32 year Penataquit Hose members Ex Captain John Mehler Jr. & Ex Captain Bill Carney who were recognized as senior active members.

Penataquit Hose Firefighger Bruce Gordon was honored as he stepped down from his position as Department Sergeant at Arms after 13 years of incredible service.

We’d like to congratulate our 3 officers Captain James Leggio, 1st Lieutenant Gavin Farrell & 2nd Lieutenant Jack Tufarelli.

We’d also like to congratulate another one our own 2nd Assistant Chief Kyle J. Voges.
