Bay Waveland Youth Football & Cheerleading This league was established to teach the fundamentals of football and cheer in our community.

Bay-Waveland Youth Football is a youth league for children's football and cheerleading, ages 5-12. Our league was founded in early 1980's and has been home to many championships. All of our season games are played within the Hancock County limits between five SMYFA leagues.

We want to address the recent concerns that have been brought forward. First and foremost, we want everyone to know that **we are here for the children and want what is best for every athlete in our program.**

We acknowledge that **we made a mistake and should have followed the roster rules.** A player was added after the initial rosters were submitted. We were told other leagues were still adding players, and we made the decision to do the same. We understand now that we should have followed the rules regardless.

We also want to be clear that **we do not believe this was a race issue.** We understand the concerns that have been raised, and we respect everyone's right to speak up.

We take responsibility for our mistake, and we will learn from it and do better moving forward.

At the end of the day, **we are all here for the kids.** Let's keep them at the center of what we do.

As the Bay Waveland Youth Football & Cheer League, we want to reassure everyone that the safety and well being of our kids is always our top priority. ❤️

For the past two years, we have required background checks, and we have continued that process again this year. We will continue conducting background checks each season to help ensure we are providing a safe environment for every child in our program. The best website we have found that works is jerseywatch.com!
As always we are so thankful for the ones who support our league!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! 💛💙

We have the sweetest girl, Poppy, who is currently battling cancer. While she has to be away from us this week for treatment, we want to remind her that her cheer family is right here, rooting for her every step of the way! 🥹💛

Poppy, we want you to always remember just how strong, brave, and loved you are. You are NEVER alone in this fight. Your cheer sisters, coaches, and your entire Tigers family are fighting right alongside you! 🐯💛💙

Please continue to remind our sweet Poppy girl that she has an entire team behind her cheering her on!

The Tigers are fighting with you, Poppy! 🐯💛
