Magdalene House is a transitional sober living program where women are given the opportunity to recover from alcoholism and drug addiction in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. The addiction recovery process requires a strong and honest commitment to effect real change. Our Women’s Sober Living Program provides the perfect bridge from treatment back to “real life.”

Long ago, God made a promise to his people: “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you ...” (Ezekiel 36:26-27, NLT). God wasn’t just promising minor changes. He was offering a total heart change, replacing what’s hard and worn down with something alive, tender, and new. Best of all, he promised to give himself—his Spirit living inside the hearts of his people!

That promise was fulfilled in the Early Church, at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came to live in everyone who believes in Jesus. And that promise is true for you today if you have given your life to Jesus. The Holy Spirit lives in you right now! You don’t just get some extra help or a small life upgrade. You get God himself, living right inside you, giving you new desires, new strength, and a new way to live.

It’s the Holy Spirit in you that empowers you to walk away from old patterns—things like stirring up drama, bragging, or living in constant comparison. Instead, he changes the way you think, what you value, and how you treat others. He gives you the power to speak with kindness, care for others, and live in a way that’s truly free. Not because you tried harder, but because he is at work within you.

The Holy Spirit isn’t just asking you to follow some rules or change on your own. He wants to be part of every area of your life: your thoughts, your words, and your actions. As you keep giving these areas to him, he works inside you, changing you day by day to become more like him.
