Tonight, we had the incredible privilege of watching 12 individuals take an oath that carries far more weight than the words themselves.
They didn’t have to do this. They have families, careers, responsibilities, and busy lives of their own, but decided that children who have experienced abuse or neglect deserve someone willing to stand up, speak out, and make sure their voices are heard.
Tonight, they became CASA advocates. 💙
We are incredibly grateful to Harrison County Youth Court Judge Mike Dickinson and Stone County Youth Court Judge Sean Courtney for administering tonight’s oaths and for their continued dedication to the children and families we serve.
We were also honored by the presence of Biloxi City Council President and Ward 5 Councilman Paul Tisdale. Jason Chiniche of Chiniche Engineering and Surveying, a 2026 Mission Partner, was there to support as well!
A very special thank you to Kathy Springer, CEO of United Way of South Mississippi, along with the United Way staff and Board of Directors. Their presence tonight was a beautiful reminder of what happens when a community comes together for its children.
To the families and friends who shared this special evening, thank you. As our judges so often remind us, the people standing behind our advocates are an important part of this journey, too. Your love, encouragement, and support make this commitment possible.
To our newest advocates: you may never fully know the difference you will make in a child’s life. There may come a day when that child looks back and remembers when everything around them felt uncertain. Someone showed up. Someone listened. Someone cared enough to stay. That someone was YOU!
Congratulations, dear friends, and welcome to our CASA family!
