We’re super excited to say that we were one of the grant recipients! Thanks to Coast Electric and the Operation Round Up program, we will be able to purchase 2 Promethean Boards for use at the Hancock Chamber Business Resource Center and in the Hancock Chamber’s Conference Room! The Business Resource Center is available to the public for business meetings at low cost to businesses/individuals and no cost to nonprofits, civic groups and government entities. We’re delighted that these assets will be available for many to use through our facility!

Testimony after testimony, it’s clear that Coast Electric does more than just power homes.

City Officials from Bay St. Louis and supporters cut the ribbon today on two new pickleball courts at McDonald Park, part of a larger expansion plan funded by a $138K city bond and $48K donation from the Hancock County Community Development Foundation. Chiniche Engineering and Surveying designed the park, and Moran Hauling was the contractor.

We're proud to be the fiscal agents for the Hancock Chamber of Commerce's 2024 Small Business Grants! Thanks to a generous donation from the Mississippi Power Foundation, we are able to administer 16 grants of $5,000 each to businesses in the area. Skydweller created 2 summer camps for Hancock County students - one for middle schoolers and one for high schoolers. We're so proud to see these projects coming to life!

Touchdown!

Day 2 is complete; the inaugural Aerospace Engineering Experience for Hancock County School District Middle School students is fini.

Here you can see the students with their hand-crafted solar-powered phone chargers that will soon grace the playgrounds of Hancock Middle School and Bay Waveland Middle School.

Thank you, students, for spending time with us this week - and thank you parents for letting them. We all had a great time.

And thanks again to Mississippi Power, Hancock Chamber of Commerce and our hosts Pearl River Community College.

Tune in again Monday when we host Bay High School Tigers and Hancock High School students for their 3-day long Aerospace Engineering Experience!

Thanks to WLOX-TV for covering the Heritage Star Dedication for Charles Gray this past Saturday! Charles was an extraordinary man and is sorely missed. Stop by the Hancock County Historical Society to see the star and to check out the archives.

Gray successfully petitioning the state to officially name a maritime battle which took place in the bay during the war of 1812, “The battle of Bay St. Louis.”

🌟Today our Foundation dedicated a Hancock County Heritage Star to Charles Gray. Charles was an extraordinary man who dedicated the later years of his life to developing the Hancock County Historical Society. He led the effort to have the U.S. Navy name the maritime battle in the Bay the “Battle of Bay St. Louis,” which took place during the War of 1812. He saved the Kate Lobrano House from being demolished after Hurricane Katrina. This building on Cue Street now serves as the HCHS headquarters and houses their extensive archives.
