Today, our students are completing their ASP Baton Certification, where they are learning the proper and safe techniques for carrying and using the baton as part of their professional training. This certification helps ensure animal control officers have the knowledge and skills to respond safely and effectively in the field.

The Alabama Animal Control Association is proud to announce an upcoming Humane Euthanasia Training Workshop for Animal Shelter Services professionals and Animal Control Officers.

This training is designed for personnel who are responsible for the humane euthanasia of animals and will provide instruction on:

✅ Humane euthanasia procedures
✅ Safety and handling protocols
✅ Ethical and legal responsibilities
✅ Industry best practices
✅ Professional standards for animal shelters and animal control agencies

A huge thank you to the Midwest Animal Services Academy for an outstanding week of training and professional development!

We are also incredibly grateful to the National Animal Care & Control Association (NACA) for their generous sponsorship, which allowed us to award two scholarships to animal control professionals. Investing in education helps strengthen our profession and better serve our communities.

It has been inspiring to see our students engaged, asking questions, and gaining valuable knowledge and skills throughout the week. Their dedication to learning is a testament to the future of animal care and animal control.

A special thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this training a success.
