The O.J. French Memorial Scholarship Committee proudly congratulates Jamar Johnson on being selected as our 2026 scholarship recipient.

Jamar is an outstanding student at Baldwin Preparatory Academy, where he serves as President of HOSA and Key Club, Founder and President of the Multicultural Student Association, as well as a Student Ambassador, Peer Helper, and member of Mu Alpha Theta. With a 3.7 GPA, he exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to service.

This fall, Jamar will attend the University of Alabama to pursue a degree in Nursing, continuing his passion for serving others and making a meaningful impact.

We are honored to support such a driven and compassionate young leader and look forward to all he will accomplish in the future.

Our hearts are deeply heavy as we grieve the untimely and tragic loss of one of our most recent scholarship recipients, Elisha Jones III. The OJ French Memorial Foundation extends our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire community impacted by this tremendous loss.

We rest in the comfort of God’s Word: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

May the peace of God surround every heart in mourning, and may EJ’s light and legacy continue to shine in the many lives he touched.
