A few WIZO Florida volunteers gathered to meet Andrea from WIZO California’s Valley Group. Andrea Cohen shared the inspiring story of how she started and grew the group in the Valley, offering valuable insights and ideas.

The gathering was graciously hosted by Judit Groisman at her home, where everyone enjoyed a beautiful luncheon, warm conversation, and an afternoon of friendship and inspiration.

Students from WIZO Nahalal, WIZO Nir HaEmek, and WIZO Hadassim take part in Bartali Youth in Movement, an educational cycling program that helps young people discover what they are capable of, together.

At the recent 20 km ride in Ben Shemen, Taisia and Anna Maria from WIZO Nahalal joined fellow riders for a meaningful challenge that reflected a year of training, teamwork, and growth.

“The ride is the visible part,” says Ran Margaliot, CEO of Bartali Youth in Movement. “What matters most is what happens inside the group.”

A new Israeli study is putting numbers to a reality many women have been living quietly since the war began.

Pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood are already vulnerable periods. For women whose partners are called up for reserve duty, that reality becomes even heavier.

The study found that 44% of pregnant women whose partners served in reserves reported symptoms of clinical depression — and also highlighted the importance of one protective factor: social support.

Through WIZO’s Homefront Heroes programs, women and families of reservists receive emotional support, professional guidance, community spaces, and practical tools to cope with the ongoing pressure of war.

Because when a reservist is called up, the whole family feels it.

This morning, while preparing and celebrating Shavuot with the children, sirens sounded across the city as rockets were launched from Lebanon toward northern Israel.

And still — they didn’t stop.

Despite the daily explosions, the fear, and the impossible reality of living on Israel’s northern border, they continued singing, dancing, celebrating, and giving these children moments of joy and normal childhood.

We just had to share with you the incredible spirit of the WIZO daycare center team in Kiryat Shmona, and especially their director, Hodaya.
