I may not be super active on here, but when it comes to the cabinet or our free library, my children and I put a lot of care into the things we do. Over Easter they made homemade goodie bags out of paper towel rolls. They decorated and filled them with their own candy. Over the summer we painted a rock caterpillar so the community could add to it. Today I noticed our caterpillar's head was missing. If you have it, please bring it back. We are just getting ready to put our free library back out and it's a bit discouraging.

My daughter told me she has recently seen a group of grown men open all the drawers up without even looking or taking anything, laugh to one another, and walk away without closing them. I don't think I should have to explain, but when they get left open and it rains, it causes them to rust and ultimately not close anymore. Any goods that are stored will get wet as well. My daughter most mornings is the one to shut them when they get left open so that was a tiny stab to her heart seeing grown men act this way. Among other things, I have also seen a group of men at early hours take my sign out of the ground so they could pry a frozen/rotting gourd off the ground and then set it on the cabinet all while stuffing their bags full of goods.

If you think no one is watching. Someone probably is πŸ˜‰

I usually just brush it off, but when it comes to my kids and their feelings.. this needs to be addressed. I know there are many community members that appreciate and utilize this resource. I have had a good amount of people stop me and talk to me about how grateful they are that this is here. Please don't ruin a good thing.
