Get ready to Shake Out!

October 16th at 10:16 AM, Bay City will be Shaking Out. The Great American Shakeout will start with a simulated earthquake at 10:16 AM. You might receive a Nixle alert. Grab your go bag and walk to your nearest tsunami evacuation assembly area. There will be volunteers at each of the three areas - Upper Watt Park, High Street, and the old Paintbrush handle Factory -- to greet you.

Join us for a work party right afterward as we do some reorganization of the Watt Park Emergency Preparations Container and shed.

On the Richter scale, All structures will be severely damaged by the earthquake. Those homes with woodstoves that are actively burning may catch fire. Virtually all structures in the tsunami inundation zone will be destroyed. Emergency services will not be able to respond. Neighbors outside of the inundation zone will need to help neighbors just as we always do in an emergency..

We will be sheltering in place the best we can. We will need to be prepared for several months before we get meaningful assistance.
