Can you believe LWML Sunday is only two months away? Traditionally observed on the first Sunday in October (October 5), this special day can be celebrated any time that works best for your congregation. This year marks the beginning of a new four-year cycle, focusing on the LWML Mission Statement, with the 2025 theme highlighting what it means to Proclaim Christ. Rooted in the Ascension text of Luke 24:44–53, we are reminded of Jesus’ command that “repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations.” This focus equips and inspires us, as Lutheran Women in Mission, to share the hope of Christ in all we do.

Pictured above is the brand-new banner, which beautifully ties into this year’s theme. Worship service resources, bulletin covers, and other materials for Lutheran Women in Mission Sunday will soon be available for purchase or as free downloads. All resources, authored by Rev. Mark Maas, have received LCMS Doctrinal Review approval. Make plans now to join us in celebrating and joyfully proclaiming Christ to the world!

Following another successful convention, we are pleased to announce that $2,622,270 has been approved to fund 33 Mission Grants for the upcoming biennium. Thank you all for your ongoing giving that continues to spread His love and His Word across the world.

Other fun statistics include 272 singers in the choir, 806 attendees at the Wake Up In The Word Bible studies, 2,439 attendees using Whova, approximately 73,680 hugs given, and 10/10s for everyone brave enough to sing karaoke.

If you are in the St. Louis area this Friday, join Carla Elenz and Kathy Sowers as they kick off their journey from the Concordia Seminary campus in St. Louis, Missouri, to Omaha, Nebraska, in time for the convention. This is all part of "Miles for Mites" to help raise money for missions around the world.

The send-off event is from 11:30 a.m.–noon on Friday, June 13, at 801 Seminary Pl, St. Louis, MO 63105. Wish them luck on their 433-mile ride!

The 41st Biennial Convention will livestream all convention sessions in the CHI Convention Center. For those watching the convention at home, make plans to have a livestreaming party and invite the women in your congregation to watch it together. You will be able to participate in the Opening and Sending Worship Services, Bible studies with Christina Hergenrader, hear the inspiring Mites in Action speakers, and be there when the new biennium’s mission goal and mission grants are announced. Watch for information and directions coming soon to lwml.org. Links for the livestream will be posted prominently on the Convention Central webpage along with a downloadable convention manual and worship bulletins so you can follow along.
