Team Agriculture Georgia will host a free virtual workshop to introduce cattle ranchers to USDA NRCS programs that can improve grazing and watering systems. Programs like EQIP and CSP can reduce costs and lead to beneficial environmental outcomes in cow-calf and feeder operations.

Esther Sprott, co-owner of Blue Sky Agriculture in Schley County, will discuss her cattle operation and how they have leveraged NRCS to grow better forage and healthier animals.

The webinar will be held over Zoom from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on March 20. Registration is required.

The Ga Organic Peanut Association is hosting an informative field day about Certified Organic pecan production and handling at historic Koinonia Farm in Sumter County.

Representatives from the Georgia Organic Peanut Association will also be in attendance to talk about Certified Organic peanuts and progress toward developing a Certified Organic supply chain for peanuts in Georgia.

Part of this event will take place outdoors.

With generous support from the USDA Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement, Team Agriculture Georgia and the Georgia Heirs Property Law Center are excited to host an in-person workshop for farmers and landowners. This event will provide valuable information and resources to those just embarking on their journey as farmers and timber managers, as well as to seasoned ag professionals and landowners.

The workshop will take place on April 11 in Albany, Georgia. There is no cost to attend, and lunch will be provided. Attendees must register in advance. Space is limited.
