A walk that looks simple—but for some kids, trust is anything but simple.

At Royal Family Kids Camp, the games matter. The laughter matters. The tie-dye shirts and silly moments matter. But what matters most are the people willing to walk beside a child long enough for them to believe they don’t have to walk alone anymore.

One week can’t erase hard things.

To the biological moms, foster moms, adoptive moms, stepmoms, grandmas, guardians, mentors, aunties, and every woman who has loved a child like her own — thank you. Your impact matters more than words can say.

At Royal Family Kids Camp, we see firsthand how powerful safe, caring, and consistent love can be in the life of a child. Many of our campers have been deeply shaped by the women who chose to keep loving them through hard seasons.

From an empty room… to a room full of people who love Jesus and have chosen to give a week of their lives to being the love and hope of Christ to kids who have experienced foster care. 💜

Today was our 2026 Camp Training Day.

We will spend the day learning about the brain, TBRI, redirection tools, camp policies and schedules, and practical ways to help children feel safe, seen, and loved. But just as importantly, we spent time building relationships with one another so we can serve these kids together as one team.
Camp is officially less than 40 days away, and we are expectant for all God is going to do. 🙌

Interesting Facts as we gather kiddos for camp.

Did you know that kids can enter the foster care system as early as infancy—and sometimes even up until they're 18 or older? In fact, according to 2022 AFCARS data, the average age of a child in foster care was just 8 years old.⁠

What’s even more eye-opening is that more than half of these kids are under the age of 10, and about 27% are teenagers. These are some of the most vulnerable ages, which is why we focus on making life-changing moments happen at our Royal Family KIDS Camp and Mentoring programs. 💜⁠

For The Children equips churches in 45 states and in 10 countries to provide our signature programs—Royal Family KIDS Camp and Mentoring—to children ages 6-12 who have experienced relational trauma. Specifically, we serve children affected by foster care.
