Please join us for a Community Potluck this Saturday, May 4th from 6pm to 8pm at the Schoolhouse. Bring your family, table settings and a dish to share. Main dish, side dish or dessert! We will supply the beverages. Enjoy meeting your neighbors in our wondeful community. We look forward to seeing you there!

We still have a few openings for the Venersborg Schoolhouse 2023 Wreathmaking Workshop this coming Sunday. Enjoy the holiday spirit in the warmth of the one-room schoolhouse’s old wood stove! THANK YOU so much for those who attended and volunteered at this year's 2023 Annual Holiday Bazaar at the Schoolhouse yesterday! It was a fabulous event and we enjoyed seeing everyone again.

Please keep in mind the Schoolhouse is available to rent any time for your special events or family gatherings, and we will continue to send out postings of upcoming community events. Just check out our website at:

This year's 2023 Wreathmaking Workshop is on December 3rd and open for sign up! Only 24 spaces, so get yours now!

Register with Kathie at the phone number or email below to make a Holiday Wreath at the Historic Venersborg Schoolhouse 24309 NE 209th St BG, Sunday, December 3rd! There will be two workshop sessions: Session A at 11am-1pm and Session B at 2-4pm. Twelve stations are available for each session, so be sure to register soon!

Bases, boughs, bows, decorations, wire and all materials will be provided for $35 per wreath. Please bring your own clippers and gloves. Coffee, tea, and water will be offered for refreshment. Expert wreath makers will guide you as you create your own personalized Holiday Wreath!

To our Community, after Thanksgiving, if you have fresh greens (fir, cedar, etc) you can donate before the event, please drop off at the Schoolhouse and place on the east side behind the flag pole. Thank you so very much!! (Note: please, no holly)

If you’ve driven by the school house lately you certainly must have noticed we’ve been digging dirt. Wonder what we’re up to? Since we’re not renting out the building during the pandemic, we decided it is a good time to upgrade our electrical system, put in a modern heating system, and improve our handicap access. All the work is being done with volunteer help, support from area businesses, and funds paid by years of community events and local grants. We also decided it would be best for our tree-dense area for us to put our hanging electric wires underground. This project has been in the planning stages for a few years and we’re glad we are getting it done.

We have moved our Seed Sharing event to MAY 9 (noon - 3pm). There may be some shifting of speakers so do check back to see if we make any changes. May is an EXCELLENT time to plant seeds and get starts into the ground. Please update your calendars and tell friends. The event will be outdoors in fresh air. May is a good time to be outdoors!
