WHAT. A. WEEKEND. ❤️
I didn’t get a chance to make this post yesterday, and honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything that happened over the last three days.
First and foremost, congratulations to ALL of our contestants.
To every kid who entered that arena, backed into the box, ran through the gate, swung a rope, tied a goat, climbed on a Mighty Buck, carried a flag, or simply showed up and gave it their best… we are so proud of you.
Winning is awesome. Buckles, saddles, checks and awards are pretty darn cool. But sometimes more than half the battle is just showing up, putting yourself out there, and being willing to try. Every contestant who came to Rockin’ Youth Rodeo this weekend deserves to be celebrated.
And to the parents, grandparents, families, friends, coaches and support systems behind these kids ,THANK YOU. We know what it takes to get horses hauled, kids entered, clothes washed, animals fed, trailers packed, nerves settled and everyone where they’re supposed to be. None of this happens without you.
To our volunteers… there simply are not enough words.
This rodeo COULD NOT happen without you. From gates and arenas to office help, livestock, equipment, announcing, setting barrels, holding goats, moving cattle, helping kids and the hundred other jobs happening behind the scenes. You made this weekend possible!
And to our incredible sponsors who continue to believe in Rockin’ Youth Rodeo year after year: THANK YOU. Your support allows us to make this weekend bigger, better and more special for these contestants every single year. We hope you know how much your investment in these kids matters.
This was our BIGGEST Rockin’ Youth Rodeo yet, with somewhere around 270 contestants joining us this weekend. 🤯❤️ I’ll share the official number once I get everything completely closed out, but WOW.
And we aren’t quite finished yet!
I’m working through final cash payouts, awards that need to get where they belong, paperwork and all of the little pieces that come with closing out a weekend this big. We also have 21 Vegas Tuffest tickets that are a major priority so we can get everything submitted ASAP with packets due September 10.
So if you’re waiting on something from me, I promise I haven’t forgotten you. Please bear with me while we clean out the facility, close the books and get everything wrapped up correctly.
GOOD NEWS — T-shirt orders are going to OPEN BACK UP! 🎉 Roam Wild Boutique
So if you missed your chance to get a Rockin’ Youth Rodeo shirt this weekend, you’ll have another opportunity. Huge thank you to Tori with Roam Silver Company for making that possible. Keep an eye out for ordering information!
And finally… if you took pictures or videos this weekend, PLEASE share them with us. Tag Rockin’ Youth Rodeo, drop them in the comments, or post some of your favorite moments. There was so much happening that I know I missed a million special little moments, and I would absolutely love to see the weekend through your eyes.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing up.
Thank you for trusting us with your kids.
Thank you for believing in what we are trying to build.
Thank you for making Rockin’ Youth Rodeo what it is.
Until next year, cowboys and cowgirls.
Happy Trails,
Rockin’ Youth Rodeo Crew
