NON-HORSE ALL-AROUND PAYOUTS ❤️

First, I want to apologize for not having these payouts finalized sooner. Since this was our first year doing the Non-Horse All-Around only on Sunday, new program, and a huge massive turn out for Vegas Tuffest, we really didn’t know what the turnout would look like or exactly how everything would shake out. After looking at the numbers, we felt this was the best and fairest way to distribute the payout while making sure every contestant receives something back.

A huge congratulations to all of our contestants, all-around winners, and buckle recipients! We are so thankful you came out, competed, and helped make this such a fun addition to Rockin’ Youth Rodeo.

We also want to give a HUGE shoutout and thank you to Dollar Corner Moose Lodge and Brett & Debbie Grinde for their support and for helping make these awards possible. We truly appreciate you!

💵 To receive your payout:
Please message Lacy Jo Keller with your Venmo or Cash App information. If you’d rather receive cash, I’m also happy to arrange a time to meet up with you after this week.

Again, congratulations to all of our contestants, and thank you so much for coming and supporting Rockin’ Youth Rodeo! We hope you had a great time and we’re excited to keep growing this part of the rodeo. ❤️🤠

A remarkable reflection on this weekend. An opportunity, a kind thoughtful person, and now who knows the trajectory it will take.

❤️ A Reflection on August — Some Moments Are Too Special Not to Share

As August comes to a close, there are a few pictures and moments that never made it to social media—but they absolutely deserve to be shared. These are the people and experiences that remind us Daddy D’s BBQ has always been about more than food. It’s about family, community, relationships, and the memories we create along the way.

This one is for Brother Brett with Venneri Production. 🙏🏾❤️

We met Brett at the Rockin Youth Rodeo, and from the very first conversation, I could feel this brother’s genuine heart, his passion for the community, and especially his love for our youth.

But what touched me most wasn’t simply the love he showed Daddy D’s BBQ—it was the love he showed my grandson, Jahlon.

For all three days of the rodeo, Brett made Jahlon feel like he belonged. He spent time with him, laughed with him, and even blessed him with his own rodeo hat so he could truly feel like part of the experience. 🤠❤️

Then Brett did something our family will never forget.

He came over to the Daddy D’s booth, grabbed Jahlon, and took him into the arena so that little man could ride a horse for the FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE. 🐎

That wasn’t just another ride at the rodeo. That was a lifelong memory being created right in front of us.

Now Jahlon is talking about wanting to ride horses going forward! 🐎 You never know how one act of kindness can introduce a child to something that may stay with them for the rest of their life.

And Brother Brett didn’t stop there. He also surprised me—Daddy D—with a personalized, laser-printed custom hat featuring the full Daddy D’s BBQ logo. That hat means more to me than he probably realizes because of the person and the heart behind it.

Brett, you didn’t treat us like vendors you had just met. You treated us like FAMILY.

And that’s exactly what you became.

From Daddy D, Jahlon, and our entire Daddy D’s BBQ family, THANK YOU. Thank you for loving on our family. Thank you for pouring into the next generation. Thank you for supporting Daddy D’s. And most importantly, thank you for giving my grandson an experience he’ll remember for the rest of his life.

I also want to personally recognize and thank you for your service as a firefighter. 🚒🙏🏾 It takes a special kind of person to dedicate their life to protecting and serving others, and after meeting you, it’s easy to see that servant’s heart doesn’t stop when the uniform comes off.

Brother Brett, wherever this journey takes us, you will forever be FAMILY. ❤️

Some people cross your path for a moment.
Others leave an impact that lasts a lifetime.

Much love and respect from Daddy D & the entire Daddy D’s BBQ family. 🙏🏾🔥

WHAT. A. WEEKEND. ❤️

I didn’t get a chance to make this post yesterday, and honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything that happened over the last three days.

First and foremost, congratulations to ALL of our contestants.

To every kid who entered that arena, backed into the box, ran through the gate, swung a rope, tied a goat, climbed on a Mighty Buck, carried a flag, or simply showed up and gave it their best… we are so proud of you.

Winning is awesome. Buckles, saddles, checks and awards are pretty darn cool. But sometimes more than half the battle is just showing up, putting yourself out there, and being willing to try. Every contestant who came to Rockin’ Youth Rodeo this weekend deserves to be celebrated.

And to the parents, grandparents, families, friends, coaches and support systems behind these kids ,THANK YOU. We know what it takes to get horses hauled, kids entered, clothes washed, animals fed, trailers packed, nerves settled and everyone where they’re supposed to be. None of this happens without you.

To our volunteers… there simply are not enough words.

This rodeo COULD NOT happen without you. From gates and arenas to office help, livestock, equipment, announcing, setting barrels, holding goats, moving cattle, helping kids and the hundred other jobs happening behind the scenes. You made this weekend possible!

And to our incredible sponsors who continue to believe in Rockin’ Youth Rodeo year after year: THANK YOU. Your support allows us to make this weekend bigger, better and more special for these contestants every single year. We hope you know how much your investment in these kids matters.

This was our BIGGEST Rockin’ Youth Rodeo yet, with somewhere around 270 contestants joining us this weekend. 🤯❤️ I’ll share the official number once I get everything completely closed out, but WOW.

And we aren’t quite finished yet!

I’m working through final cash payouts, awards that need to get where they belong, paperwork and all of the little pieces that come with closing out a weekend this big. We also have 21 Vegas Tuffest tickets that are a major priority so we can get everything submitted ASAP with packets due September 10.

So if you’re waiting on something from me, I promise I haven’t forgotten you. Please bear with me while we clean out the facility, close the books and get everything wrapped up correctly.

GOOD NEWS — T-shirt orders are going to OPEN BACK UP! 🎉 Roam Wild Boutique

So if you missed your chance to get a Rockin’ Youth Rodeo shirt this weekend, you’ll have another opportunity. Huge thank you to Tori with Roam Silver Company for making that possible. Keep an eye out for ordering information!

And finally… if you took pictures or videos this weekend, PLEASE share them with us. Tag Rockin’ Youth Rodeo, drop them in the comments, or post some of your favorite moments. There was so much happening that I know I missed a million special little moments, and I would absolutely love to see the weekend through your eyes.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing up.

Thank you for trusting us with your kids.

Thank you for believing in what we are trying to build.

Thank you for making Rockin’ Youth Rodeo what it is.

Until next year, cowboys and cowgirls.
Happy Trails,
Rockin’ Youth Rodeo Crew

🤠 RODEO UPDATE — 11:53 AM 🤠

Lead Line is DONE ✅
Peewee & Greenhorn Mighty Bucks are DONE ✅

Here’s where we’re headed next:

🐴 Outdoor Arena / Sled Roping
• Juniors are finishing up Sled Heading and will roll right into Sled Heeling
• Then Peewee Sled Heading
• Greenhorn Sled Heading
• Greenhorn Sled Heeling
• And then Peewee Sled Heeling

Lacy is inside working up the indoor arena right now. Once our Juniors are finished with their team roping, they’ll make their way over to the indoor arena, and we’ll get started with Junior Sled Roping in there.

⭐️ NON-HORSE ALL-AROUND ⭐️

We sent everybody off to catch a little break, grab some lunch, and reset. We’re looking to get started around NOON.

Debbie Grundy is over there taking entries and money. If you already filled out the Google Form — perfect! You can pay Debbie right there.

💰 $15 per event
💰 $50 for all FOUR events
🏆 Buckle Champion in each event
💵 Cash payouts

Remember, we have to work all of these results and payouts by hand, so please be patient with us while we get everything figured!

And if you can, PLEASE stick around! We would love to award those buckles with our proud sponsors — Dollars Corner Moose Lodge and the Grundy Family — and have everybody there to celebrate a great finish to an awesome weekend of rodeoing.

We’re getting there, guys! Keep hanging with us and let’s finish this thing STRONG! ❤️🤠

🏆 ALL-AROUND AWARDS UPDATE 🏆

Here’s how deep we’ll be going for our All-Around Awards this year:

⭐ Greenhorn & Peewee All-Around
Boys and girls are combined, and we will be awarding through 15th place!

⭐ Junior All-Around
Boys and girls are split, and we’ll be awarding 7 places deep in each division — 7 Junior Girls + 7 Junior Boys, for a total of 14 awards!

⭐ Senior All-Around
Senior boys and girls will be combined, and we’ll be awarding through 6th place.

And SENIORS — you guys are officially DONE with your events today! 🙌

But if you’re still hanging around, I would absolutely LOVE to see you out there helping and encouraging some of our younger contestants.

We’ve got a lot going on today — Mighty Bucks, Lead Line in the indoor arena, Junior Sled Heading starting around 10-ish, and plenty of roping and rodeo action throughout the day.

You older kids have skills and experience that these little ones look up to. ❤️ Now is your chance to pass some of that along.

Help a kid with their rope. Give them a little coaching. Cheer them on. Help them get lined up. Be somebody they remember as the “big kid” who took a minute to help them.

That mentorship is a HUGE part of what youth rodeo is all about, and I would really appreciate seeing our seniors step into that role today.

Let’s finish this rodeo strong. 🤠🏆
