We're a little over a week away (May 7) from 2026 Battle Creek Reads with "West With Giraffes" author Lynda Rutledge at Binder Park Zoo.
Here are answers to some FAQ:
1. The event is free!
2. Enter from the new side gate near the zip line course beginning at 5:30 p.m. Staff will hand out wristbands for entrance to the event.
3. The event is outside, but chairs will be provided.
4. Attendees will have access to the event area, but not the entire zoo. Most animals will be off exhibit as the zoo will be closed for the night.
5. The author will be signing books after the program, and New Story Community Books will be on hand with extra copies for purchase.
🦒We can't wait to see you there! Have any other questions? Drop them below and we'll do our best to have an answer.

Sometimes we read to our stuffies,
Sometimes our stuffies read to us.
Come see the sculpture at main above the Quarier/Summers entrance.

When you carry one of these totes, you’re not just repping a bookstore, you’re helping build it.

This tote bag is on our website as a part of a fundraiser to help with our journey to opening our independent storefront in Downtown Tyler. We’ve had a few unexpected expenses come up, and this is helping us get over the finish line.

Every tote purchased helps bring The Headless Librarian to life. These aren’t just tote bags, they’re a way to be part of what we’re building.

Each of our three tiers includes:
• A coupon for our new store
• Entries into a $100 gift card raffle
• Your name on our in-store thank-you display

If you're local there's a local pickup option and there's also an option for shipping.

Thank You So Much,
Katy ❤
