Two changes are needed in the state budget:
1. Updating budget boilerplate to update Medicaid reimbursement at the allowable rate and ensure that budget boilerplate language keeps the Medicaid rates in line with the respective annual Medicare increases.
2. Allocating funds to finally pay providers for service to Michigan’s prisons in 2023 and 2024 that left nearly $6 million owed to providers by the Michigan Department of Corrections.

The first week of June is CPR and AED awareness week! 🙌💓
You have the ability to save a life if someone goes into cardiac arrest. Hands-Only CPR takes two simple steps:
1. Call 9-1-1
2. Press hard and fast in the center of the victim's chest until first responders arrive. Keep your compressions around 120 beats per minute - the beat of the song "Stayin' Alive."

During EMS Week, LifeCare Paramedic Adam White was recognized at a Survivor Dinner at Beacon Health - honoring EMS professionals and the survivors whose lives they have impacted.

Adam was recognized for his response to a rollover car accident that resulted in the patient being ejected from their vehicle. Adam did an excellent job assessing and treating the patient's injuries and providing stabilizing pre-hospital care, leading to a positive outcome for the patient in what could have been a fatal situation.

Congratulations, Adam. This recognition is very-well deserved. Thank you for all you do for your patients, and thank you for being part of the LifeCare team!

This week we celebrate the EMS providers who respond to emergencies 24/7/365, providing not only pre-hospital medical care in urgent situations, but care, compassion, and respect for their patients. LifeCare Paramedic Supervisor Matt Mills accepted a recognition award from Senator Elissa Slotkin on behalf of all the LifeCare employees who responded to the Union City tornado.

Senator Slotkin met with public safety and community responders during her tour of the areas impacted by the tornadoes.
