Our vision is to build a community free from gun violence, where individuals can live with dignity, respect, and safety. The mission of Battle Creek Impacting Violence (BCIV) is to reduce Part I violent crimes, interpersonal violent injury and incarceration rates in the City of Battle Creek by providing comprehensive violence intervention services, empower survivors, educate communities, and foster a culture of non-violence through collaboration and advocacy.

Joseph Bowser Jr., 22, was found shot and killed on March 24th, 2018, behind the Battle Creek Apartments, formerly known as the River Apartments in Battle Creek, Michigan. Joseph was a talented athlete and an engineering student at Western Michigan University. Joseph's family is advocating and fighting for justice. The family opened the Joseph Bowser Center as a gathering point for families affected by violent crime in their community.

Anyone with information concerning Joseph Bowser's unsolved homicide is asked to call the Battle Creek Police Department at (269) 781-0911 or the Battle Creek 311 information center at (269) 966-3311. To remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a reward, call Silent Observer at (269) 964-3888.

Please remember that these victims are submitted to us by their family. Our organization does not investigate cases. We advocate, educate, and help raise awareness. Speculation on the details of the case is not helpful on this platform. Comments that are deemed inappropriate and/or potentially hurtful will be removed.
