Growing in strength and wisdom…

Sometimes growth isn’t always obvious. Sometimes it happens less visibly when conditions are right; when time and proper nourishment allow roots to go deeper, and maturing, flourishing and blooming follow.

May was such a month. We were honored to host several groups that emphasized stepping back and focusing on digging deeper into learning, training and becoming more efficient in their lives, their missions and ministries.

From officer training, men’s focus groups, women’s book studies and business mentorship gatherings, each group chose to set time aside to make growth happen.

Part of our mission is to be able to provide a place for events like these to happen. Let us know if you need a space to retreat from distractions and create an opportunity to grow stronger.

We were pleased to be able to support this very worthy organization Friday.
S.A.F.E. Place offers hope and help to those suffering from domestic abuse. Thankful too to Hamilton Landscape Supply & Nursery for donating a tree & delivery to the auction.
We were excited to submit the “winning bid” and look forward to selecting something special for one of our new gardens that we hope will add a place of safety and sanctuary.

From making the interior sparkle to making major impacts on the landscaping, they each have helped make our center a beautiful space for our future guests.

We’re excited for the warmer season and being able to host upcoming events… but to make sure all is ready, we need your help.

Saturday, May 9th starting at 9:00 am is our annual “Spring Cleanup”. The address is 20398 Waubascon Road, Battle Creek.

Please come for however long you are available. We have both outdoor and indoor projects to tackle and the camaraderie is always wonderful, as well as tasty snacks during our breaks.

While we do have some gardening tools, feel free to bring your own work gloves and gardening gear.

The two day event gathered business leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs to attend interactive workshops, presentations and panel discussions designed to inspire and help them grow. Gifts for growth…

A few years ago we dedicated a small entry garden to a past committee member who was an integral part of our center. Over the years we’ve slowly added plants and shrubs he enjoyed.

Last week we received a most generous gift from his widow to continue to maintain and expand this area to help welcome guests as they enter our property, as well as helping to enhance our nature trail.

Take a peek at how the garden has changed over the years and help us thank our dear friend, Kathy Sawchuk for believing in continuing to make our center a place of beauty and reflection.
