This morning was all we had hoped and prayed for. Gentle breezes and soft sunlight ushered in a worship service that combined the musical talents of Daniel Kring and Dr. Carl Witt; a powerful message by Rev. Lorenzo Small of truly loving God and how that can be genuinely evidenced in our lives, followed by a precious time of everyone gathering for great food and conversation.

What a wonderful weekend for the families and friends that came to celebrate special occasions! A sweet baby shower on Saturday followed by a 50th birthday party on Sunday with perfect weather.
Today’s gentle rain showers are refreshing the gardens as we look forward to another exciting event this coming weekend. (Hint: You’re invited… watch for more details)

Numbers…

We found this fun little hopscotch game on the driveway after one of the days the summer camps children visited.
In the past couple weeks we’ve also had groups who were celebrating a baby shower, a bridal shower and a 60th birthday.
It’s been a good reminder of how quickly those phases in our lives pass.
Stepping from childhood to becoming young adults and continuing to growing in maturity; Psalms 90:12 encourages us to number our days so that we may have a heart of wisdom.

* and in the spirit of loving life at every stage, who can resist a game of hopscotch when the opportunity presents itself! ;)

One of our regular guests shared this recently:
“It’s been a hectic few weeks and a busy, holiday is approaching with family friends arriving to spend the holiday with us. I needed some quiet time to reset. As many times as I’ve been to the Retreat Center, I’ve never taken the time to explore the nature trail. Walking along the newly cleared path, the lush foliage, ferns and woodland plants created an emerald landscape filled with the sounds of birds. An open area with freshly cut logs provided a place to relax and take in a beautiful view of the lake. Thank you for providing this wonderful place to escape for a short time to restore a sense of peace.”

We love having these great summer camp kids coming out each week to spend time learning about nature, wildlife and God’s creation!!
