Battle Creek Lodge No. 12 was well represented at the Commandery’s Easter Sunrise Service at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

Peninsular Commandery No. 8 was led by Eminent Commander Skylar Clark and was joined by Captain General John Blanchard, Senior Warden Scott Blanchard, Recorder Kevin Perry, Sword Bearer Paul Edwards, Grand Warder Tim Monroe, and Grand Prelate Matt Kent.

Also in attendance were Brothers Gordon Smith, Jeremy Christenson, and Randy Widener.

Battle Creek Lodge No. 12 was well represented at this year's performance of the Feast of the Paschal Lamb.

The Feast of the Paschal Lamb is a ceremonial remembrance of our fraternal brethren who have passed beyond this earthly existence; we celebrate the immortality of the spirit.

The Knights of Rose Croix make it clear that this is not a religious ceremony but a fraternal ceremony. Photographed (BC12) were WM Scott Blanchard, SW John Blanchard, Sec. Skylar Clark, PM Dakota Hoskins, and MWB Fred Kaiser; also in attendance was PM Dean Hoskins.

This is a Scottish Rite event, open to all Masons and families; I would recommend taking part next year.

Please remember our Worshipful Brother Bruce in your devotions. He and Sister Bobbie (OES) lost their Daughter Sister Yvonne Rose (OES).

Additionally WB Bruce had a fall resulting in a laceration, concussion, and a small brain bleed according to his daughter, Dawn. Bruce is home and recovering from COVID, pneumonia, and now traumatic brain injury.

At this time the family reports no immediate needs and is grateful for our prayers. Dawn has promised to reach out if this changes.

The past few days have been filled with service for Battle Creek Lodge 12. We started off by dropping off toys for Toys for Tots at Territorial Brewing. From there, we connected with American Legion Post 54 to retire our American flag. The next day, we donated an artifact to the Battle Creek Regional History Museum. As we think of all the great reasons for somebody to become a Freemason, this video reminded me it is nearly as important for people to examine what we are not.

Those of us intimate with the fraternity sometimes take for granted that many in the general public have only what they see on television and in social media or hear from a conspiracy believer. As seekers of light and information, I believe we have a duty to share what we are able to.
