Over $1.65 MILLION raised… BECAUSE OF YOU!❤️

To every sponsor, donor, guest, honoree, volunteer, committee member, partner and supporter who believed in the mission of The Capital Gala—thank you.

What happened on August 15 was so much more than one incredible night. It was our community coming together with one purpose: to make a meaningful difference for those facing cancer and the families walking alongside them.

Together, we raised over $1.65 million benefiting Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute and The Bella Bowman Foundation.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the generosity of this community and for every person who helped make this possible. Every table reserved, every sponsorship, every donation, every auction bid and every act of support brought us to this moment.

Over $1.65 million. One community. An immeasurable impact.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for fighting with us. ❤️

Meet Wakely Carter, our 2026 Capital Gala Media Chairwoman.

In her first year on The Capital Gala Committee, Wakely has found a meaningful way to blend her passion for creativity and storytelling with a mission that serves our community.

As Media Chairwoman, she helps share the story of The Capital Gala—from honorees and sponsors to committee members, partnerships, and behind-the-scenes moments. Through photos, videos, collaborative interviews, and social media, she offers a glimpse into the heart of the Gala and reminds our community that it represents far more than one unforgettable evening.

Wakely thrives behind the scenes, bringing ideas to life and ensuring people feel seen and celebrated. This role allows her to do just that, while using her talents for something greater than herself. She is grateful for her first year with The Capital Gala and excited to continue growing with this incredible organization.

Professionally, Wakely is a Project Manager at Xdesign, where she combines her marketing background with her love for creativity, organization, and collaboration. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her son, Carter, traveling, being with family, and shopping until she’s dropped.

Join us in celebrating our 2026 Media Chairwoman, Wakely Carter.

For David Roberts, Founder & CEO of EXCEL Group, The Capital Gala’s mission is deeply personal.

After losing his mother to breast cancer, Dave made a commitment to do everything he could to support the fight against cancer—helping raise funds for better care, better treatment, and greater hope for those facing the disease.

That commitment has continued for more than 30 years, and we are incredibly grateful for Mr. Robert’s longstanding support of The Capital Gala and the impact he continues to make in our community.

As Dave shares, The Capital Gala is more than an unforgettable night—it’s an opportunity to come together for something that truly benefits Baton Rouge, our community, and the fight against cancer.

We are incredibly honored to recognize EXCEL Group as the Legacy Sponsor of The Capital Gala 2026. Their continued generosity and commitment help make this mission—and the impact it creates for cancer patients and families in our community—possible.

Thank you, Dave and EXCEL Group, for continuing to fight with us. 🤍

For Kris and Rebecca Klar, Founders of The Brick Company, The Capital Gala’s mission is deeply personal.

Kris was just 13 when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Thanks to the incredible care and resources available right here in Baton Rouge, she has continued her fight for the past 34 years.

That experience shaped their belief in the importance of keeping exceptional cancer care close to home, allowing patients to remain near their families and support systems throughout their journey.

It’s also why the local impact of The Capital Gala means so much to them. Funds raised stay in our community, helping ensure patients and families have access to the care and resources they need.

We are incredibly grateful to The Brick Company, Kris and Rebecca Klar, and their entire team for standing with us as a 2026 Silver Sponsor and helping make a difference for families facing cancer right here at home. ❤️

Together, we’re supporting our community, celebrating hope, and fighting with purpose.
