Enjoy this beautiful reunion story—made possible by the new Louisiana law allowing adoptees aged 24 and older to obtain a copy of their original birth certificate. So thankful for the many dedicated individuals who worked tirelessly over the years to make this happen, opening the door for these heartwarming reunions to take place.

Louisiana recently changed the law so that people who were adopted could get their birth certificates, which has helped some track down their birth families.

7 lessons from the book "People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys,":

1. You're the Driver of Your Emotions: Imagine your emotions are a car. Other people might honk or cut you off, but you ultimately decide if you'll get angry, stay calm, or even laugh it off.

2. Choose Your Battles: Not every annoying comment or action needs a reaction. Sometimes, letting things slide is the most peaceful path. Think of it like ignoring a barking dog; it eventually stops when it realizes you're not playing.

3. Set Healthy Boundaries: It's okay to say "no" or to tell someone when their behavior bothers you. This isn't being mean, it's like putting up a fence to protect your emotional garden.

4. Don't Try to Fix Everyone: Some people are just naturally difficult. Trying to change them is like trying to make a cat bark – it's not going to happen. Focus on your reactions instead.

5. Let Go of Resentment: Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and hoping the other person gets sick. Forgive, not for them, but for your own peace of mind.

6. Find Your Happy Place: Have activities or hobbies that recharge you and help you de-stress. This could be reading, spending time in nature, listening to music, or anything that brings you joy.

7. Communicate Clearly: Don't expect people to read your mind. If someone's behavior upsets you, calmly explain how it makes you feel. It might not always solve the problem, but at least you've spoken your truth.
