Public Relations Association of Louisiana - Baton Rouge Chapter Founded in 1972, PRAL Baton Rouge consists of more than 200 members in the Greater Baton Rouge area.

PRAL is an affiliate of the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF), a four-state organization (including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida) that provides added dimensions of professionalism. SPRF sponsors several yearly projects and programs through its four member states, one being the prestigious Lantern Awards Program recognizing excellence in the field of public relations. SPRF, along with eight other regional and national public relations organizations, is a participating member of the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), the national body which administers the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) designation. Members certified as APRs have successfully demonstrated competency in the knowledge, skills and abilities required to practice public relations effectively in today’s business arena.

Meet PRAL-BR member Alyse Shelton! Alyse is a communications specialist with Louisiana Board of Regents.

"I chose to join the PRAL because I wanted to become more connected to the communications and public relations community across the state. As a communications professional working in higher education, I’m always looking for opportunities to network, learn from others in the field and stay current on new trends and strategies. PRAL gives me the opportunity to exchange ideas and continue developing my craft professionally and personally. PRAL-BR is committed to providing the programming, professional development and opportunities our members value. To support that work and the future of our organization, the Board has approved updated membership dues beginning January 1, 2027.

New membership rates:�
Student: $30
Postgraduate Professional: $50
Professional: $100
Premier Professional: $400

Important: Members who join or renew their expired membership on or after January 1, 2027, will pay the new rates. Those who join or renew their expired membership by December 31, 2026, will pay the current rates.
