Baton Rouge Gamblers Anonymous

You raised them. You still love them. And you're watching something you can't quite name eat the edges of their life.

The late-night phone silence. The excuses that don't add up. The way money and mood swing together.

You don't have to fix them tonight. You don't have to have the perfect conversation.

You just don't have to carry this alone.

**Monday evening — South Baton Rouge Church of Christ**
Open Gam-Anon · 7:00–8:00 PM
8725 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge
(Education Building to the right of the church)

GA meets at the same time if they're ready to come with you — or if you're not sure yet which room fits.

The app is always there. Between errands. In the parking lot. After everyone else goes to bed.

It's sold as "just a little action." Your body knows when it stopped being little.

If someone who loves you has started asking careful questions — or if you've started hiding the screen — that discomfort is information, not failure.

There's a chair waiting. Bring yourself. Bring them. Or come alone and just listen.

**Saturday morning — Luke 10:27 Church (Denham Springs)**
Open GA · 10:00–11:00 AM
536 Centerville St NE
(second building on the left; wheelchair ramp in back)

**Sunday evening — Stepping Stones (Gonzales)**
Open GA · 7:00–8:00 PM
1027 N Burnside Dr

You told yourself you'd only play what was in your pocket.

Then the lights did what lights do. Time thinned out. The walk to the machine felt automatic, like your feet already knew the path.

If you've ever left wondering where the evening went — and what left with it — you're in familiar company here.

Change is possible. It starts smaller than a promise: one meeting, one hour, one room that doesn't ask you to perform.

**Friday noon — Blackwater Methodist (Baker)**
Open GA · 12:00–1:00 PM
10000 Blackwater Rd
(meeting room building behind the church)

You've got a few clean days. Or a few weeks. Or you're white-knuckling through a hard afternoon and wondering if walking into a room will feel like starting over for the hundredth time.

It might. Or it might feel like exhaling next to people who already know the script in your head.

You don't have to share. You don't have to be "ready." You can take a seat, hear one honest story, and leave when it's over.

That's enough for today.

**Thursday noon — South Baton Rouge Church of Christ**
Open GA · 12:00–1:00 PM
8725 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge

Or Thursday evening at Broadmoor UMC (Mollylea) or Holy Ghost in Hammond — same open door.

It started as "research." Charts. Alerts. A system that felt smarter than luck.

Then the system needed one more trade to prove itself. Then another. Then your phone was never really put down.

If the market closed and your chest still raced, that might not be investing anymore.

You're not alone in that blur. There are rooms full of people who mistook a rush for a plan — and found a way to put the phone down for an hour.

**Wednesday — Grace Baptist**
Open GA · 6:30–7:30 PM
630 Richland Ave, Baton Rouge
(building on the left, 1st floor)

Just show up. Listening counts.

There's a box in the closet that used to feel like a hobby.

Now it feels like a second job you never clock out of — checking comps at lunch, refreshing listings after dinner, telling yourself the next pull is the one that makes the stack "worth it."

You're not chasing cardboard. You're chasing the feeling that you finally got ahead.

You're not broken for that. Plenty of people in this room know exactly how a "collection" turned into a compulsion.

Come sit with us. Listen first. No commitment required.

**Tuesday evening — Broadmoor Baptist**
Open GA · 7:00–8:00 PM
9755 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge
(small building on the right side of the parking lot)

The site never closes.

That's the part that's hard to explain to somebody who's never done it. A casino has a door and a drive home. A store has hours. This has none of that. It's 11:40 on a Monday night, the house is asleep, and the tab is just sitting there. Same as it was at lunch.

You've gotten good at logistics nobody else sees — the transfers, the second account, the timing of when things clear. That took real effort and real intelligence. You probably never guessed how much of your mind it would end up renting.

And you already know how tomorrow morning starts, because it's started that way before.

Here's the only thing worth saying tonight: the people in our meetings aren't there because something dramatic happened. Most of us are there because we got tired. Tired of the arithmetic, tired of the managing, tired of being the only person who knew.

You can walk in without deciding anything first. No dues, no last names, nobody asking you to explain yourself.

You found them in the console of the car.

Not a stack. Just more than there should be. A few scratched, a few not, and a receipt underneath that you didn't go looking for and now can't unsee.

So you're standing in the driveway on a Wednesday morning trying to decide which one you are: the person who's overreacting, or the person who's been right for a while and kept talking herself out of it.

You've probably already run the conversation in your head a dozen times. You know how it goes. He gets defensive, or he gets quiet, or he agrees so fast that nothing actually changes. And you're left holding it by yourself again.

You don't have to hold it by yourself.

There's a room in town for the people who love someone who gambles. Not to fix them, not to build a case — just to sit with people who already know the exact shape of what you're carrying, because they've carried it too.

Gam-Anon — for family and friends
🕖 Monday, 7:00–8:00 PM
South Baton Rouge Church of Christ
8725 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge
(Education Building, to the right of the church)

And if they are ready, or if you just want to see what it looks like, tonight's GA meeting is open to both gamblers and their families and friends:

🕖 Sunday, 7:00–8:00 PM
Stepping Stones Club House
1027 N Burnside Dr, Gonzales

You can come alone. You can come and say nothing at all.

08/16/2026

There's a particular quiet to Sunday morning.

The house is still. The coffee's on. For about ten minutes, nothing is asking anything of you.

Then the arithmetic starts. What's actually in the account. What you told somebody on the way out the door. Whether Friday was as bad as you think it was, or a little worse.

And you can still see the room. The cold air. The carpet. The machine that felt like it was three spins from turning. You remember deciding to leave. You also remember not leaving.

Here's what nobody says out loud: a lot of us ran that same Sunday morning math for years. Right here around Baton Rouge. We weren't weak, and we weren't stupid. We were stuck — and we didn't know there was a room full of people who had been stuck in exactly the same way.

You don't have to quit anything before you walk in. You don't have to talk. You don't have to give your last name. You can sit in the back, listen for an hour, and go home.

Tonight, if you want it:

🕖 Sunday, 7:00–8:00 PM
Stepping Stones Club House
1027 N Burnside Dr, Gonzales

Or tomorrow:
🕖 Monday, 7:00–8:00 PM
South Baton Rouge Church of Christ
8725 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge
(Education Building, to the right of the church)

Come as you are. That's the whole requirement.
