📣 STAR is accepting nominations of businesses, organizations, coalitions, survivors, public officials, journalists, and other individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to combating sexual violence, supporting survivors, and creating change in their communities.

Honorees will be recognized at our Champions of Change awards gala on Thursday, November 19th, 2026, at The Balcony Ballroom in Metairie.

Our first "Healing Through Words" creative writing workshop of the Fall took place this Saturday and the STAR Team and participants had a blast! 🤩

Shoutout to Lauren, Clarity, and Ann for all that they do to put together a safe space for survivors to write, reflect, and heal. 🫶

On Wednesday, we celebrated Julia Hine and Ally Anderson as they each wrapped up an important chapter with STAR’s Legal Program. 🥲

During Julia's two years as a dedicated STAR Staff Attorney, she expanded access to legal representation for minor survivors, helping more young people receive trauma-informed legal representation.

Ally joined us this summer as a legal intern from LSU Law. She will return this fall to continue serving survivors as an advocate and working with our legal team.

We are grateful for everything they've contributed to STAR and the survivors we serve and wish them luck & success!!! 🤍⭐
