Tragic Loss at Los Alamitos Amid Virus Outbreak

A devastating equine virus outbreak at Los Alamitos has led to the death of 12 horses, including five just recently. The outbreak of equine infectious anemia (EIA) has hit the barn of quarter horse trainer Heath Taylor, with additional cases reported in Texas. Six horses remain under quarantine, being closely monitored. The virus poses serious challenges, as infected horses face lifelong quarantine or euthanasia due to the high cost of containment.
