ABOUT: We are passionate and committed to seeing lives changed by and for Christ, and we LOVE being His hands and feet! MINISTRY: We currently serve the homeless by providing a meal, a message, worship, and prayer twice a month in downtown Baton Rouge. VOLUNTEERS: We are ALWAYS in need of volunteers to help serve! If you or your group would like to come

help out, just let us know. PRAYER: The most powerful thing you can do to support The LOT Project is to PRAY!! We hand out prayer request cards and ask folks to write down their specific needs then we send out the list via email after each meal. If you are willing to join us in prayer, please send an email to [email protected] with "PRAYER WARRIOR" as the subject and we will add you to our list! These folks need to be covered in prayer. There are so many needs…

DONATIONS: And finally, donations... All donations to The LOT Project will be tax deductible. Just to give you an idea, breakfast costs about $75 per month and dinner costs about $200 per month. We are looking for volunteers for our next two service dates (we even have open dates in the Fall...check out event calendar on our website).

It can be just you...you and your family...even your small group or church, or even work group. If you are interested, let us know.

What volunteers do:
- Help setup/clean up the meeting area.
- Serve the food
- Handout clothes, hygiene items, etc.
- Pray with our LOT friends (only if you want to)
- Bring the meal (This is OPTIONAL...LOT will provide the meal if not provided by volunteers.)

This is just a short list...if you want to know more, let us know.

May 33rd (Saturday @ 8:00 AM)
June 14th (Sunday @ 3:00 PM)

With no volunteers (not unheard of on Mother’s Day…who wants to leave Momma, right?)…and me not having time to prepare anything…and not wanting to serve pizza AGAIN…

We are still looking for volunteers for this Sunday for our Mother's Day service...if you are interested, let us know!

Alright folks! WE NEED MOTHER’S DAY VOLUNTEERS!!! Come serve May 10th, 3:00-5pm! PLEASE SHARE!

Also...We will be making 20 Purses with Purpose to hand out at our Mother’s Day service! We have the purses, now we need to fill them! All items need to be turned in on or before noon on May 8th!!

We also need 1-2 women to volunteer to come out and paint fingernails!

Here are some items you can donate for our homeless moms!
- nail polish
- nail files
- hair brush / comb
- travel size hygiene items
- hand sanitizer
- razors
- Kleenex
- chap stick
- lotion
- gum / mints
- face wipes
- individual, non perishable snacks

Last week, Parkview Baptist 5th grade came and did their annual service day with The LOT Project. And WHAT A DAY it was!!!

To be able to watch these young people serve with such joy and smiles…having fun doing it…was a highlight for me. Very humbling!

They rearranged the LOT room…which was insanely messy! A different group washed the LOT Van…and it looks better than it has ever looked!!!

Another group made TONS of peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for our LOT friends…

And yet another group stuffed Easter bags…

Another group made and packed hygiene bags…they even wrote notes on each bag…

Most of the things you see were actually donated by them also!!!

Absolutely crazy the work these kids put in…

And let me not forget the teachers and parents that showed up to make sure it didn’t get too crazy…

I can NOT thank them enough for their hardworking and servant spirit!!!

Local Homeless Ministry Service Opportunities are available!!! (the link to our service dates is posted below).

We are still in need of volunteers for our next service date on Feb 8th @ 2:30pm.

Please share this ministry opportunity with your church, team, family, & friends! Help us spread the word about how people can be a part of LOCAL missions right here in Baton Rouge!

WHAT VOLUNTEERS DO:
We generally like to have 10 volunteers at each service. Let us know how many you have and we’ll fill the rest of the spots if needed. The "agenda" for each of our services is: set up, visiting/fellowship, church service (music, message, prayer), meal, donation distribution, and pack up. LOT shows up with donations we've taken in. Volunteers help unload, serve the meal, then organize and hand out the donations (clothes & hygiene). Volunteers visit with people, pray with people, write down prayer requests, and then pack up at the end. Volunteer groups also have the opportunity to provide the meal, lead worship, and give the message - if they feel led to do so! If not, we’ll handle it!

GOD IS GOOD! We had a wonderful dinner service yesterday! It was pretty cold out, so the hot gumbo the volunteers served was perfect to warm everyone up! We read the Christmas story out of Luke 2 together to remind everyone of the real reason we celebrate Christmas!

We handed out quite a few blankets and jackets, as well as socks, scarves, and gloves. THANK YOU to everyone who has donated winter items (and an extra thank you to those who wrote “winter” on the donation bags 🙌)! Keep them coming!

*We also need HYGIENE items, so if you have any or would like to pick some up for us that would be great! Our main Christmas service is on the 27th!

We had a GREAT breakfast service today with a full house, delicious breakfast, fantastic volunteers and plenty of love to go around!! THANK YOU to Hebron Baptist for bringing the food and the volunteers! We handed out a ton of clothes, socks, shoes, and almost *all* of our hygiene! We also played about 5 rounds of BINGO and handed out McDonald’s gift cards to the winners!

So, if you can, please consider donating hygiene items! Travel size and hotel size are perfect!!
