Dog room volunteer Ellie Hader and Patches had the wonderful opportunity to go on Louisiana First News for Furry Friends Friday. Thank you so much to Louisiana First News and Meteorologist Ashley Renee for having Ellie and beautiful Patches on the news this morning and for giving Patches a great day out! ☺️♥️🐶

Patches is a young Terrier mix ready to join a family who wants a playful, active dog! She is up for adoption at Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS). Her adoption fee is $125.

Meet Bubblegum! Bubblegum is a 4 month old Black Mouth Cur mix female who’s just as sweet as her name suggests! Bubblegum is energetic, playful, and very affectionate, she loves to sneak in a kiss every now and then! She’s a big fan of belly rubs too. Kiwi is a one year old female DSH who’s ready to be your new best friend this fall! 🍁
Kiwi, like her name suggests, really is so sweet! She loves to give & recieve affection, taking naps, and toys.
We will not be open this weekend for public cat adoptions, but you can apply to adopt Kiwi online at caaws.org and you’ll hear from one of our adoption counselors in 48 hours.

Say hello to our strong survivor, Drako!
Drako has had a rough month. He dislocated his knee, contracted a bladder infection, and we discovered he has arthritis. 😔 Through many generous donations, we were able to get Drako the medication and veterinary care he needs. Although he’s been in recovery, nothing has brought this sweet boy’s spirit down! Drako is still the affectionate, playful, expressive dog that all of us CAAWS volunteers love!

Now all he needs is a forever home to fully recover in! Drako is an 8-year-old pit mix who has been with us for over a year. ☹️ Drako would need to be the only pet in a household; he wants to be number one in your heart. ♥️ After all our boy Drako has gone through, he deserves nothing but the best forever home!

Stop by 6357 Quinn Drive anytime from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday and fall in love with Drako! 😊
