📣 During this past legislative session, Louisiana House Bill 232 shifted the responsibility of issuing minor work permits from school systems directly to employers. Under the updated process, schools no longer issue, approve, or maintain work permits. Follow Louisiana Works for more information as they update this process.

🚨 The Work Permit Process Has Changed

Louisiana's youth employment certificate process is now managed by Louisiana Works.

Here's what you need to know:

✅ Employers are now responsible for issuing work permits and verifying a minor's age.
🏫 Schools no longer issue work permits or employment certificates.
📄 Use the new Louisiana Works Employment Certificate.

⚠️ Important reminder: School access to the Louisiana Works Employment Certificate System ends July 24, 2026.

Northwest Louisiana:
📍 Caddo · Bossier · Webster Parishes

Northeast Louisiana:
📍 Richland · Morehouse · Franklin Parishes

Our coaches work on public school campuses helping 6th–12th graders explore their options — from college applications and FAFSA to career planning and one-on-one mentoring. We believe there's a place after high school for everyone, and our coaches help students find it.

What you'll do:
✅ Guide students through college & career exploration
✅ Assist with ACT registration, college applications & financial aid
✅ Build relationships with school staff and administration
✅ Support occasional evening financial aid events

What we're looking for:
🎓 Bachelor's degree (education, social work, or counseling preferred)
👩‍🏫 Experience working with students
💻 Strong computer skills
🗓️ Morning hours, 2–3 days/week · 9-month school schedule

Big news — Louisiana Christian University has been awarded a grant from The Rapides Foundation to support the expansion of the Beyond Graduation Program, in partnership with Career Compass of Louisiana.

Beyond Graduation is designed to close the critical gap between high school graduation and college enrollment and completion—ensuring students don’t just apply, but actually enroll, persist, and earn their degree or credential. Through our dedicated college and career coaches, students receive hands-on support with admissions, financial aid, and the transition into postsecondary life.

With this expansion, Louisiana Christian University joins a growing network of six postsecondary institutions across Central Louisiana committed to providing sustained coaching and wraparound support for students throughout their college journey.

This partnership reflects what happens when institutions and community partners align around student success: more access, more support, and more students crossing the finish line. We couldn’t be more excited!
