🎉 ASPRS Celebrates a Major Milestone for PE&RS! 🎉



The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is proud to announce that Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing (PE&RS) has achieved a significant milestone in the latest Clarivate Journal Impact Factor rankings.



🏆 PE&RS has earned an Impact Factor of 3.0, a remarkable increase from 1.0 in 2024.



🏆 The journal has also advanced from Q4 to Q2 in the Geography and Geoscience field, placing PE&RS among the top 50% of journals in its category.



👏 This achievement is a testament to the dedication, expertise, and collaboration of our entire community. We extend our sincere gratitude to our Editor-in-Chief, editorial board members, authors, reviewers, and readers whose contributions continue to strengthen the quality, relevance, and global impact of PE&RS.

🔊Seeking Editor-In-Chief 🔊

🌎 The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is in search of an Editor-In-Chief for Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing (PE&RS). PE&RS, the ASPRS journal, is one of the world's leading periodicals dealing with geospatial information science and engineering. The Editor-In-Chief is responsible for evaluating special issue proposals, recruiting associate editors to the editorial board, assigning peer review submissions to an appropriate associate editor, overseeing the peer review process of approximately 150 manuscripts per year, and making decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of papers submitted for possible publication. The review process involves selecting the appropriate associate editor and overseeing the review process for each manuscript. The Editor-In-Chief will work with ASPRS Staff and subcontractors to establish guidelines for manuscript submission and formatting of accepted papers. The Editor-In-Chief also:

🟢 maintains and updates the online manuscript review form/website,

🔵 maintains the editorial manager software that tracks the status of all manuscripts submitted for peer review,

🟢 communicates with associate editors, reviewers, and authors regarding the progress of their manuscript during the review process,

🔵 works with guest editors on special issues of PE&RS, and

🟢 serves as chair of the ASPRS Journal Policy Committee.

The Editor-In-Chief provides an important service to ASPRS and the geospatial community. ASPRS provides an annual stipend to the Editor-In-Chief, financial support to a part-time editorial assistant, if needed, and covers other out-of-pocket expenses.

‼️ Attention Students and Researchers: You may submit an abstract through this Call for Speakers to be considered in the main Geo Week/ASPRS technical program, and the deadline of July 17, 2026, will apply. For the Academic Hub only, an additional Call for Abstracts for oral presentations and posters will open from October 5 - November 6, 2026 to align better with the academic calendar.

💻 Submit your Abstract for the 2026 ASPRS ITS! 🎤

👉 ASPRS International Technical Symposium is an interactive virtual event. Two weeks before the live event, presentation recordings will be posted to the Symposium website for public viewing. Viewers will be able to preview the presentations using the website interface. During the live Symposium, there will be interactive sessions with authors where they can give a brief overview, answer questions, and engage in discussion. Presentation and discussion participation awards will be announced during the conference.
