Louisiana Outdoors Forever will be accepting proposals this coming spring for conservation projects across the state – projects that provide recreational opportunities, improve water quality, provide wildlife habitat and support working lands.

A new bill will dedicate $10 million in seed money to conserving our natural resources and outdoor recreation. This fund is called Louisiana Outdoors Forever.

A recent poll reveals:
- 79% of state voters support conservation funding
- 97% agree protecting drinking water sources is extremely important, and
- 73% agree we need to do more to conserve land, water, and wildlife habitat

This a is a GREAT DAY for Louisiana!

The Nature Conservancy in Louisiana's State Director Karen Gautreaux is excited about the things we will achieve with the Louisiana Outdoors Forever program. This $10 million in seed money will launch efforts to help our state’s environment and economy grow.

“The program ensures we will continue the important work of conserving our natural resources while growing tourism for visitors and the quality of life for Louisianians,” she said.
