For 33 years, the Glen Oaks High School Security Dads have kept one promise: no child at Glen Oaks walks the halls without someone watching over them. Since 1993, our volunteer fathers have served as mentors, safety patrols, coaches and father figures. We've walked students safely to class, fed families in need, hosted our Family Day Picnic and STEM Festival, and covered the fees and uniforms that keep kids in the game and in the classroom. Many of the men who built this legacy are now in their sixties and seventies, and without new support, this could be the last generation of Security Dads.

Last night at the TDJ Legacy Foundation Soirée, the Glen Oaks Security Dads were honored for 30+ years of mentorship and support for our students. Seeing the impact of this work reflected in the success of alums like Dr. Tyre’ Jenkins makes it all worth it.

There is nothing quite like the joy of seeing our fathers and father-figures celebrate their daughters. From the dance floor to the dinner table, the room was overflowing with love and pride.

We were deeply moved by the words of Glen Oaks Alumna, , who shared an inspirational message about the power of community and reaching for your dreams.
