The Salvation Army Bath-Brunswick

The Salvation Army Bath-Brunswick Motivated by the love of God, serving 20 communities in Mid-Coast Maine providing for physical & spiritual support C.R.O.W.N.S.

The Salvation Army Bath-Brunswick began over 135 years ago, the mission is the same as it was then: serving Arrowsic, Bailey Island, Bath, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Brunswick, Cundy's Harbor, Five Islands, Georgetown, Harpswell, Orrs Island, Pejepscot, Phippsburg, Sebasco Estates, Small Point, South Harpswell, Topsham, West Bath, and Woolwich, providing for the physical and spiritual needs of the commu

nity without discrimination. We would not still be here without the support of the Bath-Brunswick community and we continue to work to alleviate the needs of our neighbors who are food insecure, living on fixed incomes, and who fall on hard times every so often: loss of income and unexpected financial burdens. We provide food assistance through our FREE Table and our choice food pantry. We partner with Meals on Wheels at Thanksgiving by providing a cooked dinner and delivery to seniors in our community who rely on Meals on Wheels. We provide financial assistance for utility, heating, and security deposit/rental assistance. We have the Pathway of Hope initiative that targets families with children (under age 18) in an effort to impact inter-generational poverty. It provides long-term case management to help move a family from beyond crisis to increased stability while building hope each step of the way. Families accepted into the initiative will work with our trained case manager on a long-term intensive case management basis, providing tools and resources to address specific barriers to increased stability. We have an anti-human trafficking program called C.R.O.W.N.S which seeks to educate the community and those vulnerable to trafficking and also provide advocacy for those victims/survivors of human trafficking. like other Salvation Army anti-trafficking programs collaborates and partners with other agencies and law enforcement to support victims/survivors of human trafficking. As of this statement, we are the only Salvation Army anti-human trafficking initiative in the state of Maine. At Christmas, we provide assistance to families with children (age 18 still in school and under). We provide gifts, toys, and pajamas or clothing, as well as stocking stuffers through our Christmas Castle. We have character building and music & art programs for school-age children, and healthy snacks and meals are provided during those programs. We also work to make summer camp available and accessible to children in our community at Camp Sebago in Standish, ME. We visit our neighbors who reside in local assisted living facilities at least twice a year, bringing them friendly smiles and small gift remembrances. We provide weekly opportunities for service, fellowship, worship, and education for women age & up; and a monthly opportunity for service and fellowship with our men's club (age 16 & up). We also have discipleship classes for children, teens, and adults who are seeking to learn more about God and grow in their faith journey, on Sundays and throughout the week (see our schedule). The current officers (pastors/administrators) are Lts. Sojourney & Tyler Adcox who were appointed in June 2022. There are 4 dedicated part-time staff who diligently work in mission to provide for the needs of our neighbors in need throughout the year.

Who needs a virtually brand-new queen-size mattress? We are not allowed to accept that donation here, but can confirm it is in really great shape. Located in Bath, must be able to pick it up on Friday morning.
