Adapting an historic, waterfront, industrial space for contemporary uses to create a public gathering place, supported by and used by the whole community and is connected to local food and the environment Bath Freight Shed Alliance is a registered 501(c)(3) volunteer community non-profit alliance preserving Bath’s only remaining 19th century freight shed on the waterfront in support of Education,

Health, Preservation and Sustainability and to enliven downtown Bath. Working together we are adapting this historic, waterfront structure into a public gathering place, supported and used by the whole community and encouraging layered activities that sustain local food, education and the environment.

Signing off today! Ten years since I first caught the Freight Shed bug. Now Maine’s First Ship will take the lead as stewards of this special place. Please help them with this community hub that is the place to gather downtown to support our farmers market and the building of the Virginia. Feeling such gratitude to so many who have been part of the journey!
