Summer Institute of Colonial Arts ~ May 30, 31
The Wolf Academy Historic Site is the heart of education in Pennsylvania. It is here that George Wolf attended school, later taught, went on to become the 7th Governor of Pennsylvania and the state’s “Father of Public Education.” With this heritage in mind the Governor Wolf Historical Society is offering “make it and take it” hands-on classes of 18th and 19th century Colonial Arts presented by talented artisans. Many of the instructors have taught at Landis Valley, Historic Bethlehem, Lancaster Mennonite HS and others. Classes will be held in the GWHS historic buildings. Breakfast and lunch will be catered by Macungie Mountain Herb Farm. Classes are limited and registration must be complete by May 22.
