Front + Centre facilitates weekly Cultural Events that blend a suite of activities to explore a chosen topic of Maine. Participants are led through a careful ordering of cinema, panel discussion, mindful movement, and collaborative workshop to complete a one to six hour program. Events are hosted in collaboration with Co-sponsors–individuals or local organizations that moderate discussion around t
heir field of work or interest. Part celebration of Maine culture, part intellectual conversation, the gatherings are exercises in community storytelling and connect global trends and events with the locality of Maine. As a collective, Front + Centre is managed democratically with shared responsibilities and benefits. Refreshments and light food are provided by local farms and businesses. A portion of ticket sales are gifted to co-sponsoring organizations or local non-profit causes. Additional resources, including film of presentations, are provided online for further engagement with local topics and organizations.

In addition to Cultural Events, Front + Centre hosts events and workshops featuring a single discipline or field of study. Documentary film screenings, activist book groups, open mic, yoga, and meditation are offered on a weekly and monthly basis. Dedicated workshops and exhibitions by local artists are offered on an intermittent basis.
