Ya’ll help us celebrate Lori Mize today for her Birthday!

She’s traveling abroad to present on her recent research for post hysterectomy care, but we’ll celebrate in person when she returns.

She is my perfect match, my Ezer Kenegdo, and I thank God with every heartbeat that he gave her to me.

Friends, if you’re into podcasts, you might like The Outrider Podcast. The imagery of The Outrider may appear masculine and Western, but it’s much deeper and rooted in Romans 8.

Most Christians have no idea what it really means to live as a co-heir with Christ. Honestly, even though we believe in Jesus, most of us live our lives believing we’re still lowly sinners when Scripture tells a different story. Paul begins Romans 8 by saying there is no condemnation for those in Christ.

To continue defining yourself primarily by what Christ has already healed is not humility; it is an agreement with a lie.

If Satan cannot take your salvation, he will do everything he can to keep you from understanding and walking in the authority you carry as a co-heir with Christ. Because when you walk this earth in your beloved authority, he loses his power there.

The Outrider is simply a metaphor for coming alongside Jesus as a co-heir and releasing the outcomes to Him. It’s a journey of healing and training as we grow up in the Kingdom of Heaven so that we can partner with Jesus and the Holy Spirit for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

The conversations on The Outrider Podcast explore the things we’ve learned wrong, where we need Jesus, and how we walk out our role as co-heirs with Him.

The role of The Outrider is simply to partner with Jesus to es**rt someone into His care. There is no greater place where that role plays out than in marriage.

Lori joined me for the last two episodes to share some of our story and how we stopped trying to “fix” each other and began partnering with Jesus for each other’s hearts. It saved our marriage and changed the trajectory for our kids to embrace their beloved identity.

What happens when two strong personalities enter a marriage carrying different wounds, longings, and ways of seeing the world?

After nearly 30 years together, Lori and I have learned we can either fight against each other or allow Jesus to teach us how to change our world together.

Watch Part 1 of Becoming Outriders in Marriage on The Outrider Podcast.

Are you being crushed under the weight of your world?

Jesus never asked you to carry that weight alone. But sadly, many well-intentioned hearts can’t handle someone else’s hard. That can leave you believing you have to become the hero in your own story.

Jesus doesn’t expect you to be the hero. But He does invite you to release outcomes and come alongside Him.

That is the heart behind The Outrider: Stepping Into the Right Saddle, a free 7-day devotional and Bible plan adapted from my book.

While The Outrider was written from the masculine ground I have walked, this plan has been adapted for both beloved sons and beloved daughters. Each day includes Scripture, reflection, prayer, and music as we journey through Beloved Awakening, Beloved Identity, and Beloved Authority.

If you’re tired of carrying pressure that was never yours to hold, this devotional is an invitation to pause and rest in the truth of your Beloved Identity.

Jesus is the Hero. We get to ride with Him.

Jesus never asked you to carry the weight of your world. He doesn’t expect you to be the hero. But He does invite you to release outcomes and come alongside Him.

This free seven-day devotional is adapted from Joseph's new book, The Outrider, and guides beloved sons and daughters through Scripture, reflection, prayer, and music.

It is an invitation for men and women who feel crushed beneath the weight of their world and long to live from Beloved Identity rather than shame, striving, or self-protection.

Each day takes you further along the Beloved Pathways of Beloved Awakening, Beloved Identity, and Beloved Authority. You’ll be invited to receive the Father’s love, stay close to Jesus, release the outcomes you were never meant to carry, and learn to walk with Him as the beloved co-heir with Christ you were created to be.
