We have had several ask how they could help Merea and we want to update you on ways you can give. Besides general monthly donations that would help with sustainable impact to Merea. We have several wish lists.

One from Walmart that has been updated this week with some items that we dream to have and some practical items that we are always running out of like paper towels, post it notes, sewing machine needles etc. Here is the link to our Walmart registry https://www.walmart.com/registry/RR/5affa1a9-bb0e-46c9-97eb-09880dac843d

Our other registery is through Amazon here is the link to it as well. https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/3RCT6AQYZ9NHD?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_ggr-subnav-share_QKSJX5JMDA7D21W4JBDW

Did you know that if you add Merea Ministry, Inc. as the charity of your choice at Walmart and at Kroger that when you round or just shop in Krogers case we get a donation from that? If you need help in adding us reach out and we can help you get set up.

Rhett said something in the backseat yesterday that I canโ€™t stop thinking about.

Iโ€™ve always loved the sky.
Thereโ€™s just something about it that makes you stop and look, whether itโ€™s day or night.

Yesterday on the way home, the sun was setting and the rays were coming through the clouds. It looked like heaven just spilling out. I pointed it out to Rhett, โ€œHey Bubba, look at that.โ€

Before I could tell him what it made me think of, he said,
โ€œSometimes when I see that, it looks like Jesus coming out of the clouds.โ€

I smiled and said, โ€œYeah buddy, I think the same thing.โ€

He asked me if I thought there would be โ€œlight raysโ€ then too. I told him I thought it would be the most beautiful sky and light weโ€™ve ever seen.

Then I felt that nudge.
โ€œSay something, Carly.โ€

And if Iโ€™m being honest, for a second I didnโ€™t want to.
I almost turned the music back up and kept singing.

We like our rides without Finley. We can JAM.
And I was enjoying that moment.

Then He nudged me again, a little harder.

So I said, โ€œYou know He WILL come down one day.โ€

Without missing a beat,
โ€œYeah, I know. I just really hope itโ€™s a long time from now because I want everybody to have enough time to understand and be a Christian. Even the people that have done a lot of bad stuff all the time. I want them to go to heaven too. I want everybody to go to heaven.

Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s important for missionaries and us to tell people about Jesus. Because some people donโ€™t know how to be Christians and ask Jesus to live in their hearts.

I mean I will miss you when you go to Guatemala, but weโ€™ll be okay because thatโ€™s important. But I really will miss you.
Oh, and can you make sure you change my Switch time limit before you leave?โ€

I was speechless. I thanked the Lord for prompting me to say something, because left to me, I wouldโ€™ve missed the boat.

Because that wasnโ€™t just a sweet thing a kid said.
That was the heart of the Gospel, coming from the backseat, from my wild little boy .

So, as I sat there, feeling so proud of himโ€ฆ and at the same time, like the Lord was confirming something in my own heart.

That desire to want more time for people, Iโ€™ve felt that so many times.
And honestly, Iโ€™ve wondered before if it was wrong.

Almost every night after my kids go to sleep, I go to their rooms and
pray over them.
This isnโ€™t a โ€œnow I lay me downโ€ type situation,
I mean I lay my hands on them and PRAY.
Yes, I know that sounds a little un-Baptist of me.

And I donโ€™t always say it the same way, but it always comes back to this,
Lord, give them a heart for the lost.
Give them a desire to share the Gospel.
Make them bold for You, Jesus!

Give them the kind of courage that doesnโ€™t shrink back when it matters.
The kind that speaks up even when itโ€™s uncomfortable.

Let them care more about what You think than what people think.
Give them words when they donโ€™t know what to say, and the willingness to say it anyway.

Make them the ones who donโ€™t stay quiet when someone needs to hear about You.

And sitting there, listening to Rhett,
it felt like the Lord was letting me hear a glimpse of that prayer being answered.

And if Iโ€™m being honest,

Iโ€™ve been told before that Iโ€™m โ€œtoo boldโ€ when it comes to serving my Jesus.

And it was NOT a compliment.

It was the kind of statement that
made me take a step back, question myself,
and for a little while, hesitate.

There were moments I stayed quiet when I shouldโ€™ve spoken.
Times I didnโ€™t pray with someone who was hurting, even though I felt that nudge.
Opportunities to share the Gospel that I let pass by.

But I didnโ€™t stay quiet for long.

And hear me on this friends,

donโ€™t let people tell you how to serve your Jesus.

Donโ€™t let their fear and insecurities quiet your obedience.

If God is telling you to speak, donโ€™t stay silent.
If Heโ€™s telling you to pray, pray!

Be bold for Jesus.
Be contagious with the Gospel.

Be the kind of person who actually cares if people make it.

Because somewhere along the way, weโ€™ve gotten a little too comfortable staying quiet,
and a little boy in the backseat reminded me what itโ€™s supposed to look like.

The sky was beautiful, but what God was doing in the backseat was even better.

So, next time He nudges you,
don't hesitate. Someone's eternity might
be on the other side of your
obedience.

Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

This picture looks peaceful. But it doesn't tell the whole story.

I snapped this picture Monday morning. It was almost comical how perfect the photo looked compared to reality.

As cars passed by our house, I caught myself thinking,
โ€œTo anyone driving by, this probably looks like the perfect morning.โ€

Perception vs. Reality

It may have looked perfect, but the reality was far from it.

Listen, I love my kids fiercely and would do anything for them. Iโ€™d jump into a pit of tree frogs, Iโ€™d jump into the ocean in the dark, and Iโ€™d even eat deviled eggs for them.

But loving them deeply doesn't mean I always have the patience and grace motherhood requires. And that morning I had already run out of both.

You wouldnโ€™t know by looking at this picture that I had already lost my temper that morning. Big time.

You wouldnโ€™t see that I had already fallen to my knees asking forgiveness. Because in that moment, I knew I couldn't do it in my own strength.

All you would see is a peaceful snapshot of kids doing school outside on a beautiful morning.

Maybe youโ€™d see mom on the porch swing and think,
โ€œWow, sheโ€™s got it made in the shade.โ€

In reality she was praying for wisdom and endurance.

Maybe the people driving by really did think it looked like the perfect morning.

But they only saw a moment.

And thatโ€™s the thing about perception.

So much of what we see in life works the same way. What we see on Facebook or other social media are still shots. Snapshots of a moment frozen in time. A smiling family. A tidy house. A peaceful morning. A successful ministry. A perfect photo.

But those pictures arenโ€™t the full story. They are just a frame.

Real life is everything that happened before and after the picture was taken.

Sometimes we see those snapshots and quietly start building standards in our minds. We decide what motherhood should look like, what patience should look like, what a peaceful home or successful ministry should look like.

But those standards were never meant to come from social media or the world around us.

Our standard is Christ.

1 Samuel 16:7
โ€œThe Lord does not see as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.โ€

People see pictures.
God sees the whole story.

The cars driving by our house that morning probably did see a peaceful moment. But it wasnโ€™t the whole story.

And most of the time, when we look at other peopleโ€™s lives, weโ€™re not seeing the whole story either.

So instead of measuring life by what looks good to the world, we should be far more concerned with what is pleasing to the Lord.

And thankfully, the One who sees our hearts is also the One who gives us the grace to keep growing. Maybe someone else needed this reminder today too.

Yesterday we had a make up sewing class because I was in training Wednesday and I needed to see my sweet ladies! Here they are sporting their personalized bags they made. They are working on a quilt and we have taken on mission project to make little sleeping bags with pillows and little messenger bags for some 8 inch bears that will be going overseas to some special children. If you have a working sewing machine you do not use any longer or sewing supplies you would like to gift please contact us.
