What you're watching is called Deep Pressure Therapy (DPT) β€” one of the most powerful tasks a psychiatric service dog can perform. 🐾

When our trainer cues the behavior, the dog applies steady, weighted pressure across the handler's lap or chest. That pressure activates the parasympathetic nervous system β€” slowing heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and helping interrupt panic attacks, PTSD episodes, and sensory overload.

It's not a cuddle. It's a trained medical response.

Now THAT'S what we call drive. πŸ”₯🎣

A fishing pole, a rope toy, and a Lab who means business. This is how we channel all that energy into focus and fun.

Rain? Don't care. Puddles? Bring 'em on. πŸ’§πŸΎ

Meet Rocky β€” a service dog in training who proves that rock-solid obedience and pure joy can absolutely coexist. Watch him hold that stay like a pro… and then absolutely SEND IT the second he hears "Free!" πŸŒ§οΈπŸ’¨

A couple of our service dogs in training were proud to be models for the BJHS EAST Water Bowl Project!

Students 3D-printed water bowls and then distributed them to participating businesses downtown.

We know the pups will love a water break this Summer β˜€οΈ

Sometimes the most important thing a service dog can do is simply not let you disappear into the moment. πŸ’›

For people living with panic disorder, PTSD, or anxiety-driven behaviors like skin scratching and picking, episodes can feel impossible to break out of alone. A trained interruption behavior gives the handler a way back.

In this clip, our trainer is working on exactly that β€” teaching the service dog to recognize the behavior, move in, and gently insist on being noticed. A nudge. A paw. A presence that says, I'm here, come back.

Fetch isn’t just fun β€” it’s exercise, focus, and bonding all rolled into one. 🎾🐾

It’s one of the easiest ways to burn energy, sharpen recall, and build a stronger relationship with your dog. And lucky for us… Retreivers were made for it.

Picture it: a quiet hallway moment between classes.
β€’
Kids stopping for a quick pet on the way to algebra. A shy student finding the courage to say hi. A stressed-out senior taking a deep breath before a big test.
β€’
This kind of scene shouldn't be a once-a-year visit or a lucky coincidence. It should be part of the school day β€” woven into the rhythm of every hallway, every campus, every kid's week.
β€’
Imagine if this wasn't rare. Imagine if this was everywhere.

Courage isn't always loud. 🐾
β€’
Sometimes it's raising your hand when you're not sure of the answer. Speaking up when you'd rather stay quiet. Trying again after you got it wrong.
β€’
Therapy dogs remind kids they're not alone in those moments β€” that someone believes in them, even when they're still learning to believe in themselves.
β€’
Not just for bad days β€” for everyday courage.

Before the bell rings, some kids are already carrying a lot.
β€’
A rough night. A worry they can't name. A morning that started off wrong.
β€’
A few quiet minutes with a therapy dog can help settle nerves, slow racing thoughts, and give kids a softer start to the day β€” so they're ready to learn when class begins.
β€’
Before the bell rings, some kids need calm. A therapy dog can be that calm.
