Today is Federation Day!
I enjoyed the Fun Night last night playing Loteria online, the 123rd MS Federation of Women’s Clubs State Convention this morning via Zoom, and the sunshine this afternoon! President Sherri Reid and her Committee did a great job organizing this convention! Congratulations to all the award winners, scholarship winners, and Club and Clubwoman of the Year!
Batesville Woman’s Club was awarded First Place for Special Emphasis project, Ms Public Broadcast-MPB!

This is the final Monday in January, and I challenged other members of Batesville Woman’s Club to post their pictures in blue in support of our Federation’s Signature Program, bringing awareness to the awful problem of Human Trafficking. Thank you, Deana, for your lovely pictures in blue!!
We can not let this problem go unnoticed, unheeded, unprosecuted, or unpunished. We must keep the pressure on and end human trafficking, both in the US and worldwide because it IS a worldwide problem! Thank you all for supporting us by wearing your blue!!

Today is Monday! I challenged Batesville Woman’s Club members to wear BLUE every Monday in January as this is Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month. Let me see your blue pictures, ladies! Just text them to me!! 😁 Wear your blue to remind people that human trafficking is a real problem in America!!

Batesville Woman’s Club members, I am waiting for you to take up the challenge and show us your support by sending me your pictures in blue! I am getting blue posting my lone picture every day wearing blue in support of and raising national and local awareness of human trafficking! We must protect our vulnerable population who often fall prey to these predators! Let’s help keep our citizens safe, young and older!! Be aware! See something, say something! Wear your BLUE!!

Wearing blue in support of GFWC Signature Program, to raise awareness of human trafficking!

GFWC-MFWC clubs across Mississippi are supporting awareness of human trafficking this week and throughout this month. Monday, Jan. 11, was designated as to bring attention to this nationwide problem! This is part of the emphasis of our national GFWC Signature Program, and state federations support our national federation’s program.
Even though Monday was , I have pictured myself wearing blue several days, as I plan to wear blue every day this week in support of this project! I challenge my fellow Batesville Woman’s Club members to wear blue this week, send me your pictures in blue so that I can forward them to Sharon. I challenge you also to wear blue every Monday this month to bring attention to the many victims of this terrible crime that ensnares even very young girls and boys, holding them hostage to the whims of their captors and the very sick adults who take advantage of their situation. Many are lured via Internet sites, and others are actually grabbed right off the streets and out of the protection of their parents!! Please be vigilant! If you see something that just doesn’t seem to be right, speak up. Notify law enforcement; they will check it out. Speak up! Be watchful! Be aware!

Hi, Friends of Batesville Woman’s Club! I am having trouble with an earlier post about our participation in the Belk Charity Day Sale, so just to be sure everyone can see it, I am adding this post! Please help us with the projects we fund to help our community, state, and nation! You can help by purchasing a $5 ticket for the Belk Charity Day Sale. The ticket gives you entrance to the sale plus a $10 credit on your purchase, either in store or on-line! During this great sale, Belk is offering 20 - 75% discounts in addition to your $10 credit.
Belk Credit Card holders will have the opportunity to shop from October 2-11.
You may buy a ticket from any Batesville Woman’s Club member, or go to donately.com, look for Batesville Woman’s Club, click on that, scroll down to “Campaigns,” and click on “Belk Charity Day 2020.” You may then purchase a ticket using credit card or bank information, and your ticket will be e-mailed to you.
We appreciate your contributions to support our club’s activities. Today we have several members participating in the Virtual St.Jude Run/Walk. We have planted a lovely Cherokee Princess dogwood tree near The Cross. We had a stuffed animal auction at our last meeting and raised $80 for Heifer International. At the end of the school year in May, we presented two scholarships to graduating seniors. We worked with Junior Auxiliary members to give Bags of Love at the school lunch pick up line this summer, and also popsicles and treats for Kids’ Day at the Farmers’ Market. We work on so many varied activities, and we depend on our community to help us. Thank you for supporting us over the years, and we hope you will continue to help us by buying a $5.00 ticket!
