📚 Happy International Literacy Day! 📚

To celebrate, Batavia Rotary is working to keep our community turning pages! We’re collecting gently used books to help restock our local Little Free Libraries and ensure readers of all ages always have access to a great story.

Whether you have picture books your kids have outgrown, popular young adult novels, or recent fiction and nonfiction paperbacks, we’d love to help pass them along to our neighbors.

What we're looking for:
Children’s picture & early reader books
Middle grade & young adult novels
Popular adult fiction & nonfiction (paperbacks preferred!)
Clean, intact books with no torn or missing pages, please.

How to donate:
Connect with a Rotarian: Drop your donations off directly with any Batavia Rotary Club member!

Join us on a Tuesday: Have a stack of books and want to learn more about what we do? Send us a direct message here to join us as a guest at one of our regular Tuesday meetings. We’d love to welcome you!

"Service Above Self" starts with empowering our community—and putting a good story
into someone's hands is a great place to begin.
Thank you for helping us share the joy of reading! 💙💛

Our very own Rotary President, Tracy Ford , was recently interviewed about her incredible work at Crossroads House.

If you know Tracy, you know how deeply she cares about making Batavia a better place for everyone.
Check out the spotlight below and drop a 👏 in the comments to show her some Rotary love!

Did you miss the "Truth About Trafficking" presentation held here in Batavia this past May? You have another opportunity to get informed and involved!

Join our friends at the Rotary Club of Lockport and Project Mona's House for their upcoming awareness event on Saturday, September 12th. This engaging, interactive training will cover everything from understanding the warning signs and pathways that lead to trafficking to appropriate trauma-informed responses and reporting procedures.

Education and community action are our strongest tools in fighting this issue across Western New York. We encourage everyone—parents, educators, healthcare professionals, and community members—to attend.

📅 Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026
⏰ Time: 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM (Doors open at 11:00 AM)
📍 Location: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County Training Center (4487 Lake Ave, Lockport, NY)

Please RSVP by September 6th so they can get an accurate count for lunch.

Please share this post with anyone in your network who might be interested in attending. We cannot achieve success alone!

It's not too late to become informed about a scourge in Western New York and beyond. An informed public can contribute to fighting human trafficking which can occur in the best of communities.

Please register by September 6th at: www.projectmonashouse,com/events

Project Monas' House is handling the registration for this free event in Lockport.

🕊️A New Symbol of Peace is Coming to Rotary Park🕊️

On June 30, the Batavia Rotary Club will install a Peace Pole in Rotary Park.

The pole displays the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in four languages and serves as a reminder that peace begins in our own communities through understanding, kindness, and service to others.

Peace Poles can be found around the world in parks, schools, and public spaces, each sharing the same message of hope and unity.
As one of Rotary International's areas of focus, peacebuilding is at the heart of Rotary's mission. We are proud to bring this symbol to Batavia and invite everyone to stop by Rotary Park and reflect on its message.
