Hoping to inspire everyone to fill out the paperwork correctly.... If you are unsure, please look at this example. The descriptions should be detailed (and match what is in the box!!). Note that the item # on consignment form MUST match with the item # on the container label. If you make a mistake on the form....don't just cross it out and "skip a line", print a new form! We need these item numbers to match on all forms.
The container tags are primarily for the auctioneer/auction staff. The auctioneer reads off of this tag to announce what is being auctioned. The tag should face the auctioneer (i.e. the back of the container). We waste a lot of time every auction searching for the labels all over the box. Best practice: in order to show buyers what is in the box, add your own label or simply write on the front of the box!!! Make it large and eye-catching. You will get more bids if people can easily tell what is in the box!
Bonus.... if you label/mark all of your boxes ahead of time, you will have an easier and quicker time adding the consignment labels (but you can do these ahead of time too). And since, the boxes are already labeled, you will make sure to get the right label on the right box...even in the darkish morning! This will greatly help us reduce delays.
