Change is never easy, but sometimes tough decisions are necessary to protect the future of emergency services in our community.

The Central Joint Fire-EMS District is making temporary operational changes to reduce costs, cut unnecessary wear and tear on our aging apparatus, and keep emergency units available when YOU need them most. These changes are focused on preserving core emergency services while continually being responsible with taxpayer dollars after two unsuccessful levy attempts.

What is important to recognize is that these efforts are being done collaboratively. The Central Joint Professional Firefighters, Local 4273 is working alongside the District and is in agreement on efforts aimed at protecting services, reducing unnecessary costs, and helping prevent layoffs while continuing to serve the community.

By reducing overtime expenses, limiting unnecessary mileage on equipment, and keeping frontline units in service longer, the District and Local 4273 are working together to ensure your firefighters and paramedics can continue answering calls for help every single day.

These decisions were not made lightly, but they were made with one goal in mind: protecting the ability to continue “Saving Lives and Property” for our community.

We appreciate the continued support, understanding, and trust from the residents we proudly serve.

Your Central Joint Professional Firefighters encourage everyone to take this simple step to help keep your family safe:
✔ Change the batteries in all smoke/CO detectors
✔ Check carbon monoxide detectors
✔ Test alarms to make sure they are working properly

It only takes a few minutes, but it can make a life-saving difference.

Change your clock. Change your batteries. Save lives.

On February 22, 2026 around 2024hrs, Brothers Jetter, Hartness, Heizer, and Ferrell demonstrated exactly why we train the way we do when they responded to reports of an MVA/vehicle into the river.

Upon arrival, crews were faced with a rapidly evolving situation where time was critical. Working quickly and efficiently, crews moved into position, coordinated their efforts, and were able to safely remove the occupant from with the assistance of your Clermont County Sherrifs Deputies, and your Clermont County Communications Center 911 Dispatcher (Davidson)!

Incidents like this are exactly why firefighters train the way we do. Water-related vehicle incidents can turn deadly in minutes, and the ability to operate calmly, communicate effectively, and rely on practiced skills makes all the difference.

Thanks to the ongoing training, teamwork, and professionalism of your firefighters, this rescue was carried out safely and efficiently, resulting in a positive outcome for everyone involved, and making a difference in our Community and living up to our motto “Proud to be of Service.” Check out the story Good Morning America put together.

Have you all heard of the amazing organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace? If not, now you do! This past week, your Central Joint Professional Firefighters had the opportunity to partner with the Clermont County Chapter of SHP right here in Batavia Township to help make a difference in our community and give the gift of excitement and a good nights rest.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace works to ensure that no child sleeps on the floor by providing beds to families in need, and we were proud to lend a hand to such an incredible mission. It is always an honor to serve alongside organizations that share our commitment to helping others.
