A hands-on volunteer opportunity to help your neighbors.

📣 UPDATE: You all work fast! ❤️

Thanks to the quick response to our first post, our Empty Bowl flower-arranging crew is officially FILLED! 🌼🥫 But there are still plenty of ways to be part of this year’s Empty Bowl!

🧁 Love to bake—or just make a really great dessert? We’re looking for sweet treats for our Dessert Raffle.

🥫 Love eating soup? Save those empty Campbell’s soup cans! We’ll be turning them into our floral centerpieces for the event.

🙌 Want to lend a hand? We still have opportunities to help with event set-up and clean-up.

🎁 Business owner, crafter or artisan? Our Silent Auction is getting a little refresh this year! We’re creating a smaller, thoughtfully curated auction with themed baskets and a few special stand-alone items. We’d love to feature something from your business, shop or studio!

One of our benevolences, Just Because, is currently collecting school supplies for teachers in the Shenandoah County School System. The “Tools for Teachers" drive runs through August 10. The attached flyer shows the items most in need.

If you are interested in donating, you have two (2) options:

(1) The Amazon wishlist of Just Because is here:

A huge thank you to everyone who came by to the Shenandoah County Community Center on Friday evening and donated canned goods and also monetary donations via Zeffy on our website! We appreciate everything we received from you...thank you so much.

Open Door Food Pantry is honored to be a featured non-profit organization on July 31, 2026 for 'Christmas in July'.

Join us at the Shenandoah County Community Center between 6:00 - 8:00 PM for this FREE EVENT and bring along a canned food donation or other non-perishable item to help stock our Food Pantry. There will be food, drinks, live music and kids activities in this Fourth Friday Concert Series. We look forward to seeing you then!
