Lost Pines Master Naturalists The members of the Lost Pines chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist program serve and support natural resources in Bastrop and Caldwell counties.

The Mission of the Texas Master Naturalist volunteer program is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities.This page is to facilitate communication between this chapter and the members that represent it and the community! We welcome any and all correspondence!

Painted Wings BirdFest! A community celebration honoring World Migratory Bird Day and Bastrop’s Bird City designation. Each year, Bastrop celebrates its Bird City status with a weekend full of activities around downtown the first weekend of May. The festivities begin on Friday and continue on Saturday.
We are thrilled to debut our new event, Painted Wings Bird Fest! There will be activities on Main Street on Friday May 1st, followed by a full lineup of demonstrations, nature talks, and more on Saturday, beginning with a walking tour of the Bastrop Bird Junction sculptures on Chestnut.
We'll end the day with Art After Dark on Saturday from 6-8pm, with the "Free as a Bird" group show, live music with Kim Snider and a "Birds in Art" talk by Patricia Raine.

YES, we've got new offerings too! BIRD SCULPTURES FIELD TRIP, PAINTED WINGS BIRDFEST at the Lost Pines Art Center with DARKSKY TX and other organizations presenting!

Join us THIS Saturday, March 21st, from 2-8 PM at Santa Fe Plaza. We’ll be handing out mushroom blocks and showing you exactly how to use them to help your plants and trees thrive! 🌱

It’s part of the Petals & Pints event, and entry is free (with a suggested $5 donation for the blocks). These are first-come, first-served, so come early!
