🌸🌷🌞April 4-H Happenings🌞🌷🌸

🏹Good Luck to all of our Shooting Sports members that qualified for the State Shooting Sports Match!

🎓Congratulations to our Seniors graduating next month!

🥇Congratulations to the award winners in Beef Posters, Spring Photo Challenge, and Recycled Art.

🎉We had 108 students participate in Demonstration Day this year!! Thank you to all the ones involved. Awards will be announced at Awards Day.

🎯The Jr. Leader meeting is moved from 4/15 to 4/22.

🏆Awards Day🏆 is May 7th at the MAC.
The schedule looks like this:
9AM: Arrive
9AM-12NOON: Free Time
12 NOON-12:30PM: Lunch (will be provided)
12:30PM-1:30PM: Awards
Parents may attend the awards ceremony at 12:30PM.

I will be emailing a list of students who qualify to attend once project books are turned in this week.

We have right at 120 students registered for Demonstration Day next Thursday.

Recycled Art contest will be judged next week, and winners will be announced in the April Newsletter.

Awards Day has been moved to May 7th to accommodate all schools testing schedules.

🐾ANIMAL SHELTER SUPPLY DRIVE🐾
Due to the freezing temperatures this week and to come, the Morehouse Parish Animal Shelter is needing donations to keep the dogs and cats warm in this weather. The main supplies needed are Dog and Cat Food, Heat Lamps and Bulbs, Tarps, Blankets, or Monetary Donations.

This counts as a service project for all 4-H members!

Items can be dropped off at the 4-H Office (Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM) this week and next. All items will be delivered to the shelter. If you have questions please call (318) 281-5741.

Regional Shooting Sports paperwork due January 31, 2025.Forms were emailed out or can be picked up at the 4-H Office.

Outdoor Adventures Club is CANCELED for December.

Congratulations to all of the 89 photos entered into the Fall Photo Challenge this year!

Congratulations to our Cookery Contest Winners!
These members qualified for the Area Contest: Abigail Richard (PVA), Harleigh Bulloch (BCS), Harp Brown (BCS), Emorie Harkness (BCS), Jaycee Cheek (BCS), and Aubrey Bulloch (BCS). This will be February 6th in Winnsboro.

Shooting Sports Safety meetings are happening this week.
-Archey: 12/9 @ 6PM PVA Cafeteria
-Shotgun: 12/12 @ 6PM Ag Auditorium
-Rifle: 12/12 @ 7PM Ag Auditorium
If you plan to shoot but did not receive a team invite via text message or Remind you need to call the 4-H Office to make sure all paperwork is completed.

20 members participated in the Blankets & Brunch Workshop November 26th.

Congratulations to all of the 129 pumpkins entered into the Pumpkin Decorating Contest this year!

Shooting Sports forms have to be turned in by November 12th.

Broiler chicks can be purchased for $0.75 each (minimum order of 5) at the 4-H Office by December 2nd.

Blankets & Brunch Workshop is November 26th. Registration closes November 24th.
