NEW UPDATE - Surgery has now been moved out 2 weeks because Denice tested positive for COVID this AM.

Hi, it's Denice! I just wanted to share that I am feeling very ready for today and feel confident, with my doctors, that it will help eleviate a lot of issues I have been dealing with. Today I am undergoing a surgery to correct a 'paraesophageal hernia with blockage'. They are basically going to rearrange some stuff inside, make repairs to multiple organs, and my diaphragm and tack things down so I have a traditional digestive system. It's been 50 years in the making and it's time. The specific work they will do sounds crazy but honestly science has come so far, especially in the last 4 years so we are ready.

We appreciate the DARN good thoughts and will share an update once I am out. We will be back stronger after some time to heal.

We don't need anything, at this point and have a great support system. If you have to do something, bring our heroes at the spay & neuter clinics some donuts, or snacks for the shelter workers, or any local rescues. They sure could use the support.

We were sad not to be able to do this emergency transfer but elated when they reached out to share that Hero made it to the vets the very next day. He had a 4.5 hour surgery yesterday and is already feeling some relief. And while we are late to finding the perfect way to honor Mary, we have made a contribution to Hero's medical bills for Mary's birthday last week. This was a rescue filled with pure heroes...

Quick Update - Our August hiatus is turning into a August/September break due to Denice's health issues. We will share more later but she is going in for surgery on Thursday and will need time to recover. Continue to reach out in September for any urgent needs and we will do our best to help if we can.

Today was a DARN good day hanging out with some of our favorite people in Converse.

This morning these sweet shelter heros helped us unload 5 wagons of dog and cat food for their depleted food pantry. It doesn't matter what time a day we stop by, these angels are always smiling and loving on their fur friends. We are grateful for all the work they do! Please stop by their location if you are looking to Adopt. They have an adorable selection of cats and dogs!

We are always proud of Karissa and the work she does for animals and creatures of all shapes and sizes. Her desire to continue to learn and dig into subjects she is passionate about are just another reason. Congrats Karissa, we always knew you were brilliant and we are DARN proud!

Yesterday we had the opportunity to help load the BCAS Community Commissary up with much needed supplies for their animals Thanks Amazon.com and Hound Rescue for the ability to help so many deserving shelters and rescues!

We’re running out of ways to thank Denise with DenMar's Animal Refuge Network for all they do for shelter pets.
This is another of huge load of food for our Community Commissary.

Thanks to Amazon.com and Hound Rescue we were able to help out a community shero yesterday who helps coordinate feedings for multiple cat colonies across Bastrop County. Denice is hard at work distributing the latest donations, as quickly as possible, to the people who need them the most.

We had another good trapping this AM and were able to get another 6 cats spayed and neutered! All 6 babies are back in the van and headed back to the colony. Continued thanks to our friends at Save An Angel for all of expertise and care of our colony cats.
